No color in any dvd's
Please go your dvd menu. Check it for PAL, NTSC, AUTO then set it AUTO.
If still problem please re route you AV connection to TV. You may use AV1, AV2, S-video, HDMI if they available on your TV/Player.

Either the glass laser eye lens is dirty and needs to be cleaned with rubbing alcohol soaked cotton swab, let dry and try again. Or just open disc tray and blow real hard inside a couple times and that usually works.
If cleaning doesn't work, then the circuit is faulty and will need to be replaced.
Does not recognize discs in drive: "NO Disc" message displayed
sounds like the optical pickup is going bad. replace the optical pickup part # 24801016A you can get it at
www.vancebaldwin.com . there are four electronis sensors inside the pickup A,B.C,and D. this is the focus and read sensors. the laser must land on all four of the "pads" (sensors) these can appaer to work at first but soon begin to degrade their read ability. the E, F sensors can also cause this problem. no the sensors can not be replaced it's the whole assebly.

Have you tried swapping cables to see if you have a defective cable, or just checking to make sure all the connections are tight? I had strange color when I changed my dvd player and finally traced the problem to one of the component video connectors being slightly pulled off of the back of the dvd player.
