I can't stop the watch

Hi, Timex has two ways to find information about your particular watch. Some of these models only have a guide consisting of a few pages. If you don't have the manual, Try this link:Complete Timex link site:http://www.timex.com/info/Product_Instruction_Guides_DownloadsNow, look up the model number, or if you cannot find that, check the three-digit Module Number from the back of the watch. Click on it in the Module Table, and download a PDF of your watch setting-instructions/manual.

If you need further help, call Timex in Little Rock, Arkansas, phone 1-800-448-4639.

I hope this helps you. Thanks, Bill

We cannot remove the back

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
I am not 100% sure of the back of this watch, but since it has no screws I can assume it just has a snap-style back.
Locate a very small tab (or recessed area) on the edge of the back cover. This is the access point for removal. You can find this sometimes by running your fingernail around the back rim, as this tab or indentation can be hard to see.
  • Pull out the stem, which releases the back on some watches.
  • Get a small flathead screwdriver it needs to be a thin inflexible tip. Use a kitchen knife as a last resort. Wrap the hand you are holding the watch with in a towel or protect your hand in some manner so you don't injure yourself if the screwdriver/knife slips.
  • Very carefully slide the blade under the tiny metal protrusion on the back cover (or across the length of the recessed area, depending on which type of cover your watch has). Do not attempt to insert the point of the knife. Use the length of the blade.
  • Get under the tab or recessed area and gently but firmly turn the blade upward, popping the cover off.
  • When you replace the cover, make sure you line up the stem slot on the cover with the stem of the watch.

  • My only other suggestion would be to take to another jeweler who is more experienced then where you went before. This should be an easy battery for someone who is capable.
    Best regards.

I would like to remove links from my expandable

Can I be honest? These are not easy to do. Ive done hundreds and I hated doing each one. You can try yourself but I would take to the dealer who sold you the watch, or to a local watchmaker. If you still want to do on your own, here is a link to a Speidel band that does a pretty good job with instructions. Best wishes.

    Replacing the back cover

This seems to be a common problem with watches and if your local watch shop cannot fix it then contact the Timex web site (times.com) and discuss your problem with their service center. If the warranty has not expired, then they may fix it free!

    I put the battery in

cut a tiny piece of saran wrap and lay over battery area before replacing back. This sometimes solves a shorting issue. Hope this helps:)

    Minute hand spins freely,if you

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the minute hand is loose on the minute gear shaft. Look for a small watch repair shop in your araea for repair.

    First the light stopped working,

I would have the battery checked. That is probably what it is. Most jewelry stores/watchmakers have a battery tester to test to see if it has any power left. That would be your best first step.
    Best regards.

The light was fading on my Indiglo Timex watch but

mcdevito75 here, Your Timex watch is most likely an Indiglo meaning light, The battery supplies power to to Quatz mechanism for time keeping and for the light. There is a very good possibility that 1 or 2 of the contacts between the battery and the Quatrz mechanism were lost during the new battery installation. While you can"t rule out that the Quartz mechanism and or the light may be wearing down, you still have to suspect the battery even a new battery, look for a small watch repair shop in your area and try another battery, let the jewler know of your watches problem so he / she can properly install the battery and ensure the contacts between the Quartz and the battery are being made.

    Hello, this may sound silly

mcdevito75 here, A brand new Timex quartz watch will come with a small piece of plastic just under the crown to keep the battery form working the watch, simply remove this small piece of plastic from under the stem (winder) push the stem in and your Timex will work. If your timex is push button you may have to hold down the Mode 2--3 seconds to see display.

How to open a wrist watch

mcdevito75 here, Your Timex may have 4 small screws holding the back onto the watch, if so you"ll need jewelers screwdrivers available on ebay to open the back of your Timex, however this is rare with timex, look for a small tab or a cutout on the back cover that matched the same in the case, if you need to use a magnifier glass available at most Dollar stores or drugstores. Once you find this tab / cutout, use a steak knife under that tab or in that cutout and pry the back cover off the watch, Be firm with the prying but at the same time use care not to hurt your watch or hand.
