It could be that the battery has an insulating paper fitted. Have you no instructions?

You can get instructions from the Timex web site "timex.com". At the bottom of the screen click on "manuals/downloads", then on "product manual download"
Enter your watch type in the search box and click on "search"

They should have reset (AC) the watch when the battery was replaced. If not you should have them do it for you. You should also be sure the watch is resealed and pressure tested to maintain water resistance.
For manuals you can download from the Timex website. The manual will tell you if/how the chimes turn on and off.

The only possibility is to send the watch to a service center, where they should be able to obtain from the factory.

I suggest that you take the watch to your nearest Timex dealer and ask them to fit a new part.

Go to the bottom of the page and you can just make out "product instructions and downloads", select this and then select "product manuals"

Choose your watch......

push the pins out in the direction of the arrows on the underside of the band.

You will need to remove the wrist first before the cover will come out.Else pull the wrist out and allow it to leave a gap and then you can move the cover out.

try if you can rotate that metal cover

While I was looking for pictures specific to resetting this watch, I came across your post and thought to reply. I recently replaced the batteries on my watch, which I have owned for nearly 7 years. It is an Ironman Triathlon 100 Lap watch. When I replaced the batteries this time, I forgot to reset, in essence reboot the system, by using a metal needle point tweezers to briefly connect the positive side of the battery to the "AC" pad on the small circuit board for at least 2 seconds. I remembered to do this with at all the other times I had replaced the battery and did not have any troubles after it. This time I forgot and now have the same issue you described. I am not sure where the "AC" pad is on the back of the module. But, it should be apparent if I did it correctly in the past.

Give that a try before sending it off to be repair and wasting time, money and trouble.

I just replaced the band on a women's ironman watch, so I know it is tricky, but can be done. First remove the old band using a small flat blade screwdriver and determine that the spring bars that came with the new band are the right size by comparing with the old ones. My new ones were too large. Then, use a pen to make marks on the back of the watch case in alignment with the spring pin holes . Put a spring pin into the band and position the band on the watch the way it will be attached, with the pin just above the marks. Use the small flat blade screwdriver to insert one of the spring bars into its hole and align the other side of the spring bar with its mark on the case. Compress the spring bar and slide it down until it roughly aligns with its hole, then, push the band sideways toward the hole and wiggle the band until the pin seats. Apparently the hole alignment is very tight and, without that last step, the pin simply will not seat. After spending a lot of time with the first strap, locating the spring pin hole by trial and error, I used a magnifying light for the second strap to allow me to see the spring bar hole, making the process a lot faster.

Mine did the same thing after changing the battery and would reset intermittently without warning. For some unknown reason I decided to open the watch again. This time I reset the time and date with the back off the watch while deprssing the small spring that is there on the inside . Haven't had a problem since. Don't know if this is the solution but it worked for me. Good luck!

good morning ! remove the spring bar carefuly to remove the band on your timex data link ! use screw driver to open the case back ! be verry careful to do that ! thanks !god bless !....

good morning ! try to short the reset pad on the pcb of your watch ,just open the case back and use a twisser to short the reset pad ! good luck !....
