Work Station 250W ATX POWER SUPPLY (= FSP-235-60GI) (FSP25060GI) Power Supply Questions & Answers
Monitor comes up with no signal, and fan is not going round on the tower I have a Packard Bellk Imedia 5061
Could be just about anything so let's go step by step.Check power outlet for voltage. If you're using an extension, check that too. You can easily check by plugging in something else and see if it works.Check power cable from pc to the wall. You can use a cheap multimeter for this. If it's a sealed plug then chances are that it's good unless the cable is perished or chewed up.Check power supply. Easiest way is by shorting the power_on pin to ground. Go to http://pinouts.ru/pin_Power.shtml for more details. If it turns on it might be good. Check the pinout according to the voltages they should be giving you. If they're ok then it most probably is a fried motherboard. Last thing to check - trace the power button cable from the case to the mainboard, remove the connector and short out the 2 pins that are exposed. If the mainboard is good then it should start up. If it doesn't start up......well....most probably you'll have to change the mainboard.
Unknown power supply

Do you have the correct/original power supply, and it is having problems of some sort? If so, you might be able to do some repairs. A common problem is often one or more of the electrolytic capacitors is bad. Take the cover off, and look for bulged capacitors (top of the capacitor pushed up & out). If you find one or more of these, replacement may return the p/s to working order.
Please note in ATX power supplies, you have a standby and full power or main section. The standby portion powers just a small section of the motherboard to sense when the power button is pushed, and activate the main full power section. Obviously, the main section powers the full motherboard, drives, fans, etc.
I've seen several units where the standby section has one or more bad capacitors which will produce either a dead or slow to turn on computer.
Use a voltmeter and monitor the voltages. There are sites on the 'net with pinouts http://pinouts.ru/
Check here for further instructions http://www.fonerbooks.com/power.htm
As regards replacement capacitors: I use mostly the Panasonic FC series available from Digi-Key Electronics. Mouser Electronics also has suitable units. You want capacitors designed for switching power supplies.
Hope this helps you out.
Has anyone experience problems with
Diagonal screen tearing on laptop's with mobile nvidia graphics cards.
This issue has been here for a long time, and it only does this with nvidia graphics cards, whether vsync is on or off, it changes nothing. Several people have this issue when playing games or editing videos on a laptop with nvidia graphics card. I have posted issues with this on nvidia forums and microsoft forums. Nvidia has acknowledged the issue, but have yet to do anything on there part. So before anyone says "its a weak graphics card" or anything like that, take note this issue only happens when using the nvidia card. No matter how much you tinker with the nvidia control panel, nothibg changes, the issues permains. The goal of this post is to get the message out there to people who have notebooks with nvidia graphics cards, and hopefully someone, nvidia, or microsoft fixes the issues. here a link showing multiple people who suffer with the problem.

Have you actually purchased Visio, or are you just trying to get it for free?
As a software guy, I would have to advise against piracy. :)
There are several ways to get Visio for cheap. If you are a student, there are discounted versions available online and in stores. Also, you can check with your school for even cheaper options sometimes. Try the university bookstore if available. Or a Computer Science department maybe.
If you are working, and your company uses MS Office applications, find out if they have the "Microsoft at Home" program. You can get MS Office applications for really cheap that way. I can get Visio through my company's "Microsoft at Home" program for a few dollars.
My Employer Says They Are Going To Cut My Wages. Can They?
If you are in the middle of a contract, then cutting your wages is almost certainly a violation of your employment law rights. While I am by no means an expert on this matter, I did have a similar issue years ago - mid-contract wage cuts - and I hired an
employment attorney to fight the case on my behalf. It turned out that my employer was basically looking to scare people into taking the wage cut.
They got into some pretty serious legal trouble for their transgression, and nothing happened to me in terms of wage cuts after that. If you are between contracts, your employer can re-negotiate your salary, but as far as I am aware, if you are in an agreed-upon contract, they cannot just decide to reduce your salary. If you want to settle matters, contest this action with support from a legal professional.
