Garmin Edge 510 Cycling Computer with GPS Questions & Answers
I did a cycle sportive and my distance climbed is alot more than other riders .any reason why ?
Hi
Different reasons may explain this
1/ If you power on your Garmin GPS, then start the ride with few satellites synchronized, then the altitude precision is bad. It may happen if you power on the Garmin Edge inside a building, or close to walls outside or in a forest.
2/ There is a correction feature on garmin connect website. When you transmit your data to your garmin connect account, you can apply this correction (see picture, sorry for french language) which should allow to fix altitude gain, as this is base don topology data.
So try powering on the garmin in a free area, where lot of satellites are visible (5 are necessary for a correct altitude measure). Then use the garmin connect feature to compare w/ your friends, it should be better.
Failed to log ride course (travelled) rode 43km, only shows 100metres
Where were the 100 metres? At the beginning or end of the ride. Take it on another run, you might of just bumped it or it could have been a fluke. If it doesn't work after that try reupdating it. Could be it lost connection with the satelite in your area and missed the recording.
Garmin Edge 705 Heart Rate Monitor Not Working
It could be that there is a failure in the circuit between the two pads on the chest strap and the HRM electronics in the middle. If it won't work at all try putting the battery in backwards for a few seconds (this is supposed to accomplish a reset) and then try re-pairing it with the Garmin. If this doesn't work, I suggest a new HRM. I've hadevery good luck with my Wahoo TICKR and a Garmin 502.
My garmin edge hard to switch on and speed not working
Hi
Speed is the result of GPS positions measured continuously by the garmin device.
Please make sure you have GPS enabled in the settings. Refer to user manual for this.
See Garmin website if you wish to load manuals
https://support.garmin.com/en-US/
Speed measure relies on sattellites being visible and captured by the Garmin edge. For this, after power on in an outside area with sky seing (not close to buildings, not in a forest), you will see synchronization working until enough satellites are seen. Once this is OK, speed should be measured
I have just loaded my City Navigator
Europe SD
The map is not the correct one for your unit (or is corrupted) or the firmware of your unit has been corrupted.
If it's the latter then you must update it using this
http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/
If it fails even after that then the defect is hardware , either in the SD card, or the processor of the unit. Have the SD card replaced; if it fails even with a new card then the unit is effectively dead since it will be cheaper just to buy a new one than to fix it.
Tomahawk E Series Exercise bike loud peddling sound
Standard WD40 is just a 'quick fix' as it isn't an actual oil unless the can is clearly labelled as "Bike All Condition Lubricant". It'll be best to buy a proper light oil like 3in1, 151 Super oil or an actual chain lube.
This 'clickey' noise. Is it random and happening every so often or is it a constant, regular click that changes with the speed your pedalling at? Check for slack in the chain. as you wiggle the chain up and down there should only be about a centimetre of movement in the chain. If it's too slack or too tight it can make strange noises. Check the axle bolts and nuts to make sure they're not loose. Check the wheel is mounted straight. If it's turned left or right the chain will 'skip' as it's slightly missing the cog teeth on the wheel. Use the frame at the rear end of the wheel as reference and measure how far the side of the wheel is from the frame on both sides. It should be about the same both sides.
