the cable should have a usb at one end and a mini usb at the other what is in the ram card will be sufficient as the pc downloads any printing into the card in the printer follow the user manual or download that manual from the manufactures web page basic connecting is to turn the printer off, connect the cable then turn the printer on ( make sure that there is a power supply for the printer) go to the control panel and click on add a printer if you have a disc install it when requested and let the installer wizard to the job

Hi, Its not clear what you are saying. First, what kind of ribbon are you using for printing, and what kind of lamination ribbon are you using? what are you trying to print on the front and back?

it depends how much edge to edge you want, its a direct to card printer and will not print all the way to the edge 100%. you can get it close by adjusting the horizonal settings, but to get true edge to edge you need the HDP printers.

Try Updating the firmware on the printer and the lamination module. Go to HIDglobal.com. Under the support tab, click drivers & downloads. Populate the drop down menus with make and model. The most recent software is shown here. Go to the section "Misc." and download Fargo Workbench. This utility enables you to update the printer by automatically pulling the most recent version off the Manufacturers website. Very Useful.

The drivers only go as high as windows xp for now. Hopefully since Windows 7 is coming out soon that they will have a driver available for it shortly.

Head Problem need to replace.

The exe file gives you the driver, but there is no .exe autoinstaller.

You have to manually install the printer and load the driver using this path:

Settings -> printers -> add a printer -> add a local printer -> LPT1 port

once there ignore the drivers list and press "Have disk", then locate the previous unzipped driver location and press ok.

You should get your printer installed and ready.

These direct-to-card printers do not print right to the edge because of the way the print head comes down on the card. There will always be a white boarder on the card especially if your graphics are dense. The only solution to this issue is to re-design your artwork so that the image fades at the edges of the card so the white boarder is not obvious, or purchase a re-transfer printer which will give you true over the edge printing.
