Singer 2259 Sewing Machine Questions & Answers
Machine stop running
Make sure all power connections are in place, to outlet and to machine. Make sure power switch in ON.Check outlet with working lamp to ensure power is coming to that outlet; check panel box to make sure power is coming to that outlet.
The top stitch is fine but underneath the thread
When the thread is bunched up underneath, the problem is often in the top tension. The top thread is pulled through to the bottom but because there is no tension, it isn't pulled back up correctly, creating large loops underneath.
Try making sure that the thread is lying correctly between the tension disks (you can just see them inside the machine on the downward thread path). Lifting the presser foot lever (behind the machine) opens up the disks and lets the thread slide between them more easily. They will close again when you put the presser foot down to sew. Make sure you always thread the machine with the presser foot lever up and tension disks open to avoid this problem in future.
If the thread is running correctly between the tension disks, just check that you that there's no fluff caught in there, holding them open. Give it a blow, or run a folded pice of fabric through there.

You do not have an embroidery machine, or an automatic threader. This is a basic sewing machine, you can free style embroider by covering the feed dogs and, using an embroidery hoop plus the darning foot but you don't have an embroidery attachment per se. Read your manual, if you do not have one go to
www.singerco.com and download a free copy under customer support and save it to your computer. Embroidery machines usually start at $600 and up. $600 is a very basic one. If, you want one take that machine back and buy one from a place that gives lessons on it, (check out JoAnn's and private shops). You will enjoy it more if you know what all of the features are.
I got problem upper loose
Your threading is not right. Go to
www.singerco.com and download a free copy of your manual, save it on your computer and enlarge the diagrams for threading so that they are really clear. Now once you do this check it, with the presser foot up, pull on the top thread and make sure that it pulls smoothly, now put the presser foot down, and it should barely move. Make sure that you have the correct needle size and that it is not bent. NO old thread, and that it is the same for bobbin and top. Good luck and happy sewing
