I have a similar issue with this machine. For your problem, try this...Press and hold the STOP button for three seconds. This is intended to turn off the "Child Lock Out" function. On the other hand, you may find that buttons that do not work today will be fine in a few hours and different buttons will not work. It seems that every time I press a button, it's "pot-luck" if it will work or not.
The only way to repair it is mail it to California at your own expense and include a check for $15.00 for handeling. Target won't help and if you bought the extended plan it only kicks in after the emerson waranty runs out. If you buy this machine, buy another brand as well so you have one that works while this one is out being repaired.

Any carbonization on the turntable will attempt to spark like that.
Clean the cavity completely and the turntable with glass plate. There is a wave guide cover that sparks when it is contaminated. That will require changing if it is the culprit.
Contact your supplier for spares.

The film stops food particles and steam from entering the part of the door that is difficult to keep clean. That is all it does.
No danger just difficult to clean.

It sounds like the turntable motor has failed. It is a synchronus motor with a plastic gearbox reducing the RPM to about 5. The gears fail when the turntable dish is turned as the motor stalls the shafts.
Replacing the motor is no big deal.
There is usually an inspection cover that can be removed on the underside of the cavity.
Remove the cover and remove the motor.
Replace with the same type and the reverse procedure will fix it.
You may however require a self tapping screw to affix the cover back on. A bit of a puzzle but not too difficult to work out!

If they is any exposed metal in the cooking bay of the oven or grease it will cause it to spark and catch fire. If it is please clean the oven throughly. If it is sparking from the back the magnetron is bad and need to be replaced.

You could try repairclinic.com. Just enter the model number and scroll down the list of parts that they carry. Typical price for the cooking plate is $30-$40.

Arcing is caused by carbon tracs or other carbon deposits that are usually caused by the build up of grease. If this has just started, you may get it to stop by a good cleaning to remove the carbon. If you can't remove the carbon this way, it can be removed with sandpaper and touched up with paint of a similiar color of the oven cavity.

Ah Nora We spoke yesterday. You have 10 Power Levels Nora from 10% power and in 10% increments all the way up to 100% Power. The owner's manual is here. On page 10 we find:

COOKING IN ONE STAGE
1. Press the POWER button; the Microwave and High
Cook indicators will light and “PL 10” will light in the
display.
2. Press the POWER button different times to set the
desired power; the display will show the percentage
you chose. If selecting power level 70%-10%, the
Low Cook indicator will light instead of the High
Cook indicator.
3. Press number keys to set the desired cooking time.
OPERATION(CONTINUED)
4. Press the START/+30SEC. button to start cooking;
the Microwave and one of the Cook indicators will
blink and the display will countdown the remaining
cooking time in minutes and seconds. It will beep
five times when cooking is completed.
