when pulling the cord out, it should 'keep' it that spot if you pull a certain direction, cant recall if it is up, or down, left or right, and pulling it opposite direction releases the cord again

I would not recommend doing that. Take it to your local vac shop. They may or may not be willing to repair it. These machines were not built to repair. They are considered disposable. I have repaired these at my store but it is a very tedious task to get it apart without breaking all the tiny plastic tabs. You should give the local shop a chance before trying it yourself. They are better equipped for it.

This will happen if the bags are either incorrectly fitted or are non genuine bags that are not within the tollerance, size wise, for the machine.

Check the motor compartment to clean out dust if needed, motor brushes, relay and filters. It's a good idea to service your power nozzle once a year too.

normally the battery gives up in this vacuum cleaners through my experience

confirm the charger first
use a voltage tester to check the voltage coming from the charger

the voltage will read from 12volts to 18 volts
depending you vacuum model.


If you the voltage is present then the battery is dead.

Can't find the question for the Electrolux vacuum cleaner H5005, but I have one of my own: Where can I get a wheel for this model?

1. Start by removing the screws that secure the bottom plate of your vacuum. 2. Once the bottom plate is removed, you will find the belt inside, as well as the belt pulley and drive wheels. 3. Disconnect the belt from the belt pulley. 4. Align the new belt over the belt pulley and drive wheels so that the teeth of the belt match up with the grooves on the pulley. 5. Wrap the belt around the pulley and drive wheels, and then reattach the belt to the pulley with the supplied clips. 6. Reassemble the vacuum and you're done!

I would think there is a blockage in the hand vac hose.
