I have a kenmore 953 freestanding stove, my wife

If you will type "SearsPartsDirect" into your search engine, you can then enter your model number and you will see all the parts of your stove. What should have happened was, either an element failed, or the element wire connection inside the wall of the oven failed, or a wire has "toasted" in the electric box inside the back of the stove. You will need to take the oven out (away from it wall, perhaps) & give it a good inspection with an electric meter to find out where the problem lies. God bless your efforts.

Message on stove top reads E2. F1 what do these

Hi

Error code F1-E2 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still there then the electronic control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Temperature markings worn off not sure of temp

Place a shallow tray of water (1/2") in the oven. Turn temp knob to coolest setting and wait for the temp to stabilize. Turn up temp by 1/16 turn and wait for temp to stabilize. Keep repeating until water boils. This is 212F (100C). mark the knob with a Sharpy ("210"). Put a small (2" x 2") piece of newspaper in the oven. Repeat as above. When it starts charring, this is 450F. Mark this temp. Now measure and divide the arc between the two points. Put 12 hash marks between them and label 20 degrees per hash. Good luck

We were given an electric smooth top kenmore

The electronic timer/clock must be working and be in manual mode for the oven to work. Try turning the power off and on and see if it resets. If is doesn't you might need a new timer unit. If you don't need the timer and clock it can be easily by-passed at the rear by joining the active and load wires and the oven will work.

Kenmore oven code f5 can't get door to open

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

How do I cancel a delayed start when trying to use self clean on Kenmore oven 807189701 Rev B

Unplug the power and cancel it. Never Ever use the self clean feature. We see damage here every couple of weeks. The worst was a burned control board on an oven that all parts were obsolete, so the self clean cost a thousand bucks! Self-cleaning ovens bring the heat so you don't have to spend hours scrubbing. Traditional self-cleaning cycles heat the oven between 800°F and 900°F, helping turn soil and spills to a powdery ash you can then wipe away. They utilize only heat-no chemicals-and are built to withstand high temperatures. (Says Maytag who love selling elements, door locks and other parts),

Problem with kenmore elite gas range. Oven will not heat

It sounds like you may have a problem with the gas valve or the igniter in your Kenmore Elite gas range. The gas valve controls the flow of gas to the burner, and the igniter provides the spark to light the gas. If the glow plug is coming on but the gas is not igniting, it could be a problem with the igniter itself or the gas valve. The igniter may not be producing a strong enough spark to light the gas, or the gas valve may be clogged or malfunctioning, preventing the gas from flowing properly. You may want to have a professional technician take a look at your range to diagnose and fix the problem. It is important to have any gas appliance serviced by a qualified technician to ensure safe operation.
