Thanks for using FixYa. This issue is related to the ballast, since it might not be sending enough voltage to the lamp or it can be sending more than it should. And, that’s why TV is entering the protection mode. Also make sure all the fans are working inside the TV and there are no swollen/bilged capacitors on the power supply board. Due to these capacitors the Power supply is not able to turn on the TV as the capacitors overheat and cause the shutdown. You will need to check and replace them.

Sounds like you have the closed captioning turned on for a channel that doesn't support this feature. Go into the menu page for closed captioning and turn it off.

You should be able to use the audio out jacks on the dvd/vcr player to connnect your headphones - this will work for dvds and tapes, and if the player has a tv tuner, to watch tv as well.

Program the VCR as if it were 1998. The day date sequence is the same as 2009 (and not a leap year).

The axles may have substantial amount of in/out play, 1/4 inch or more. Does the axle in question actually drive the wheel or does it freewheel?It's a typical differential so if you get both wheels off the ground and spin one wheel, the other wheel should rotate in the opposite direction.The axles are retained by the differential assembly (inside transmission) so if the axle is truly falling out, to fix it will require transmission be removed and opened. Probably not an economical repair unless you can DIY or replace with good used unit.
