This sounds like a power supply issue. Could be that a capacitor is playing up, but only on that channel. Voltage checks on the good channel and then the bad will show where the problem lies.

It sounds like speakers are loading down internal DSP - contact any Guitar Center and ask one of their techs for sure. Double check your speaker connections also.

try checking the impendance of the speaker connection also do make sure that the speaker cables are not short circuited.
do make a check that you are not overloading the amplifier if everything's all right then the fuse has blown out
you need to replace the fuse with the same rating and your amplifier will work

There is a "driver" stage that sets up the voltages for the output stage as well as a bias circuit. Any of these can have a problem. I would suggest that you take voltage readings at each of the output transistor pins and post the readings here. I might be able to give you a few things to check. Crown designs are not the simplest to diagnose, but we should be able to track it down a bit. Measure each of the pins to gound and post the values here.

you may have to pull it out over again, all of them on the channel where you replaced the power

transistor.


Or you can check for possible shorted collector to emitter pins on each.


Once these power transistors are extracted all in pairs then you can power up ,

just to test if the fuse will still blow.


If it happens , you might have a bad components likewise on the other channel


I will post further if the fuse does not blow anymore to help you finished

your troubleshooting.



Insure that the supply rails have no shorted components along its path.

Check for DC out on all amp outputs and post

I would study the service manual and service notes to find out why the temperature sensors do not work. Probably a supply rail down I would think to affect both of them.

Probable power transistor failure.

If you have eliminated any shorted speakers, cables etc, then the only other cause is a shorted device on the power output board. Probably a device on the heatsink.

Is the fan supposed to be on. On some units it runs all the time on others when the temp hits a certail level. Which is it for your baby?

It's best to assume there is a short circuit in the power amp board. The unit is going in to protect mode to stop it blowing fuses etc. Could be caused by bad speaker wiring or connections by the way.
