Samsung tv turns on and off

The first thing if you have not tried it is to unplug the set for a while and plug back in, this can allow the micro in the set to reset itself.Failing that check for loose connection at power cord etc.Failing that you may have a loose plug or solder connection in the set: suspect number one would be on the power supply board. The problem is likely either a connection or a part in the power supply.Have you had (this is common) problems where you have to turn set on several times to get it to come on?

14 month old samsung 32in

its possibly dry joints on the power supply-the heat generated causes the solder to crack, and when warm creates a "crater" on the affected joint and expands with heat, and loses contact until cool.(retraction).should be easy if you are handy with a soldering iron!.failing that, take it to a repair shop as its out of warranty, and samsung will not want to know! (unless you got extended warranty,of course!)
good luck,steve

Have a 4 yr old

It can be costly and difficult to replace the internals of any flatscreen television screen. Your best bet is to consult an electronics professional in your area for an estimate in repairs.
If you are a technically inclined person and you've got nothing to lose, you could always try ordering a new board online and attempting an install on your own.
Take a look at NewEgg, they usually have a good deal now and again on electronics parts, televisions included.

I have a remote for tv manufactured 2010 . remote

One Remote for Multiple Devices The way to control external devices with that remote is to use Anynet+. Check your owner's manual for it. It's listed as an application on the tv menu.

With Anynet+, just one remote control that works with up to a dozen devices, using HDMI cables to connect them to your HD TV. That means HDMI provides superior audio and video quality, neatly connected.
You can control a cable box, DVD or Blu-ray player, home theater system and more through the Anynet+ network-and that includes devices such as digital cameras and camcorders. One thing to remember-the devices must be Anynet+ enabled for the network to activate.

Exclusive Samsung Technology
The technology was introduced by Samsung in 2007, and has been upgraded since then. It's exclusive to Samsung products.
How Anynet+ Works It's a wired network system. By accessing a special menu on your Samsung TVs, you can control any connected device using nothing but the Anynet+ remote.
The remote adjusts volume and picture on any component. In fact, Anynet+ is so smart that the moment you insert a movie disc into a Blu-ray or DVD player, all AV equipment connected to your TV automatically turns on, including external speakers.
Another nice feature is that you don't need to have a component within your line of sight to make it work. In fact, you can have your whole Anynet+ system enclosed within a cabinet, and still be able to control it.

A Simple System
Anynet+ does all the work for you. Multiple devices are consolidated into one easy system-a central location for viewing home movies and pictures, too. There's no confusing networking or complicated wiring to set up. The touch of one button turns everything on or off, or puts everything into standby mode.

TV has been turning off and then back on and now

This sounds like the Power Board has gone bad in your tv. You can look online to find a replacement part if that is cheaper because sometimes something is not worth fixing anymore. sometimes the filter capacitors are bloating and not working properly anymore if you know how to replace capacitors it is worth a try

TV won't turn on at all... Red light is on

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV. The power light would turn on but the TV would not power up.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

One side of my tv gets dim and out of focus it is a samsung. At times it works fine

back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

How do I troubleshoot my Samsung TV? I have sound, but no picture.

Caps can fail with no outward signs. It takes a special meter to test them. Your set may have a back light inverter that powers the back lights. When it fails, the picture cant be seen, but you have sound, to check this look for a picture on the screen using a flashlight
