How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. Make sure you get the make and model of the tv correct. You are asking about a 31.5 inch set and calling it a 52 in TV.

Hi ! I have same problem than you. My Sony KDL52NX800 Shuts down irregularly and turns back on. My store upgraded the firmware to the latest and it still continues. Did it again today and don't know what to do next.

Problem is irregular, store cannot see the problem when it appears and i don't want to loose my TV again for 2 weeks. Did you finally find a solution ? I may call my service store again this week, because my TV is still under warranty...

does the power indicator blink?.if no power indicator check for blown fuse first at the power supply board.
