Red blinking power
I had the same problem with my 55 inch Samsung TV (blinking red standby light and a clicking sound when the TV was turned on, TV would not come on). After checking components on the power supply board I found that the five 33 ohm (orange-orange-black) resistors and changed value. Each resistor measured approximately 3.6 ohms.
I replaced all five resistors. Now the TV works.

When I try to watch
Hi,problem solved.. First you will need to open the back of the TV and locate the dry joint area inside the TV, You will need to locate where Some IC at the dry joint area.
In there, they are capacitors that are la belled Vertical lines on the panel(any IC written to vertical)...
When you locate the IC, You will need to re-solder the Capacitor. But before doing that, you can test if the capacitor is still working properly by tamping and the bottom of the IC. If the bottom of the IC has a swollen end, that means IC is GOOD,But it the bottomof the IC is flat,That means IC is BAD, Needs to be replaced...
After soldering if the problem still occurs,That means a capacitor or a resistor around the vertical line area is BAD and will need to be replaced..
After doing that,wa! la!, Your done..
Please make sure you power off the TV before attempting this instruction to avoid the risk of shock...
And also if you think you can not be able to fix it your self, please contact and expert for help...Thanks..

Samsung 5 blink code
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.
