the woven leads between the terminal posts and voice coil go bad. they may appear intact, but they can still go bad. I unsoldered them, clipped a lil off the ends, and re-soldered them. works great.

Hi it sounds like your voice coil is going out on your speaker. This happens if you drive them hard and the coil gets too hot it will burn the wires inside of the coil. You can have the voice coil rebuilt cheaper than it is to replace the speaker, but if they are under warranty then I would take it back.

Your question can't be answered without knowing the impedance of the subs. Are they 1 ohm, 2 ohm, 3 ohm, or 4 ohm coils on those dvc subs? Are you saying your amp IS 2 ohm stable?

I'm assuming you're talking about the factory Infinity amplifier from a late 90's Chrysler/Dodge vehicle, and likely trying to reuse or repurpose this into another vehicle? See the attached photos for the wiring diagram of the stereo circuit with the amplifier, as well as the wiring pin-outs for both connectors

Could be a component inside the unit breaking down

hi Frank. if you go to this link have a scroll down the page and have a read up on what has been said about the amplifier you are talking about. Need power plug for infinity amp model 255 . plus i am finding out that you try ebay might help you but its not called a power plug. they are calling it a WECO connector..or.. U need to buy a cable, usually red and has a fuse. . or call the manufacturer.

The most common cause of this is the capacitors in the crossover network fail and cause all the wattage to go to that speaker.

Your amplifier module needs repair.

Is the code on a sticker in your glove box . If not youtube the type of car and sometimes you'll get lucky they tell you the code and the steps

Its not WATTS its OHMS.

without knowing the amp size and model number it is literally a guess as to how many amps per channel or any other question regarding it.if you have a multimeter that measures watts that would be the only way to tell otherwise. good luck

Yes, and also check the wiring to your speakers and ensure that there are no bad wires. Generally the front and rear inputs are designed for more advanced receivers. If you have one that support front and rear inputs, then yes you should be using them,if not then don't worry about it.
