Printer prints lined marks across

Try updating the firmware of your printer. Just go to www.lexmarklabs.com/firmware and choose the model number of your printer.

After applying the firmware update, try to do a "Deep Clean Printhead". To do that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup (Wrench button) > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead.

I have a lexmark prospect

Updating the firmware for your Lexmark Pro200 series will help fix this problem. You will need to get rid of the error first before you can successfully update your printer. Follow these steps: 1. Open the cover of the printer > Remove the printhead. If the printhead will not go to the center, turn off the printer and pull the printhead to the center. 2. Once you have the printhead removed, close the cover of the printer and turn on the printer. 3. It will ask you to "Open Cover to Install the Printhead". Press the Cancel (Red X) button. 4. It should take you back to the "Copy" menu. 5. Proceed with the firmware update. Just go to http://bit.ly/p205fw. There'll be more than one download for your model, try the top download first. 6. Once the firmware update is successful, reinsert the printhead by following the steps on your printer screen.

Message:" There is a problem with the printhead.

Make sure your printer is updated. The firmware update, available in the Lexmark website, will help fix printhead-related problems. Follow these steps: 1. Remove the printhead from the printer.

2. Reset the printer by unplugging the power adapter from the printer (should be the whole black box on the back of the printer), leave it unplugged for about a minute then plug it back in.
3. Once the printer is back on, it will ask for the printhead. Just disregard the message by pressing or CANCEL button on your printer screen. Do not install the printhead yet.
4. Then, please use this link: http://bit.ly/p705fw to download and run the firmware on your computer. Please make sure that the USB cable is attached from the printer to the computer while you do this.
5. Once the firmware update is complete, you may reinstall the printhead.

Try to remove the sheets of paper from your printer. Unplug and re-plug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, load some paper but don't overload. Try to print again. If error continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

You'll need to reconnect your printer to your new wireless network. Here's how:
  1. Click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Printer Home.
  2. Click on Settings > Wireless Setup Utility.
  3. Follow the steps.
Once you already have the printer connected to your network, you'll need to update the port settings on your computer. Here are the steps:
  1. Under control panel, go to Printers and Faxes.
  2. Right click on your Lexmark icon and go to properties.
  3. Click on the Ports tab.
  4. Highlight the Pro700 Series port.
  5. Click on Configure port (it will search for all available printers on your network)
  6. Highlight your Lexmark Pro700 Series printer.
  7. Click on Close then click on OK.

Need to reinstall my lexmark Z705 printer.

Try to download the software online at www.lexmark.com. Just click on the link to take you directly to the download page: Lexmark Z705FYI: that printer is not compatible with Windows Vista or 7. For Mac, it's only compatible up to OS 10.4.x.

Try using the Lexmark Printer Home when scanning. If you have a PC, to access it click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Printer Home. You can scan to a .jpeg, PDF or .doc.

If you're scanning from the control panel of your printer and you're getting an error message, "Cannot Retrieve Application List", most probably your firewall is blocking your printer from downloading the applications. You might want to add the Lexmark files in the exception of your firewall. Click on the link on how to add exceptions to your firewall.

Try to uninstall the driver for your Lexmark printer. After uninstalling the driver, follow the steps below:
  1. Go to Devices and Printers.
  2. Click on any Printer or Fax icon.
  3. Click on Server Properties (below the Address bar).

  5. Delete the Lexmark drivers.
  6. Download an updated driver online at www.lexmark.com. Make sure to choose the right driver for your computer (Win 7 32bit or 64bit).
