Try this. Switch off the printer. Unplug the printer from the mains and also unplug the usb from the printer. Switch off your pc too.Try to move the printer carrier with your hand to a position where you can change the printer cartridges. After doing so, plug again the printer to the mains and also the usb. Switch on the printer and see whether it starts ok. Now switch on the pc also and if everything looks fine you may start printing.

did you download the driver for your printer, also is one of your usb's and/ or usb ports not functioning correctly. trying using device manager to see if a usb port needs to be updated
