Acer X233H Input source
Hi, maybe there's no video coming out from CPU HDMI port , and that's why monitor returns to DVI input, to test monitor HDMI input you can use another HDMI video source, as a DVD or Bluray player.
When you power on the monitor a loud buzzing noise
Hello, welcome to Fixya! This sounds more or less like one or more bulged capacitors on the power supply board inside the monitor. Usually, excess power is what affects these capacitor most of the time.Unplug the monitor from the wall, get a screw driver, open the monitor back cover in order to gain access to the panel/board. Look for any visible bulged capacitor. If you don't find any, use a ohm meter and continuity tester to read the capacitor and other component on the panel so that the fault can be detected. If you find any faulty capacitor or other component, use a soldering iron to remove the faulty component, take it to any electronics parts store or visit www.shopjimmy.comGet the exact value of the defective component and solder it back. Power should be restored after doing do.If the above task too technical for you, ask a family or friend who has the ability to assist you. (Two good heads are better that one)....If you are still having any difficulty, please let me know and I will respond to you.I wish you good luck.Regards.

Hi there. My monitor has been working fine up to
Your monitor is fine, the problem lies with your computer. Your monitor is not receiving the POST signal from your computer. I suggest you remove your computers graphics card and plug your monitor cable into onboard graphics, then power up and see if the monitor gets a signal. If it does then it means that your graphics card has stopped working. If you still don't get signal then I suggest you take your PC to your local computer shop and get a qualified technition to have a look at it just in case the motherboard is damaged. You can also try out your monitor on another system just to be sure.
The screen blacks out for a couple seconds
There are two boards that cause problems, the power supply board has bad capacitors "sometimes bulge at top" the second issue is the inverter board it energizes the back lights behind the LCD display, it to has bad capacitors that cause all kinds of symptoms.

FixYa.
It appears as if the
turn the unit off disconnect the power let it sit for 30 mins try again this normally resets the unit
Power button stuck in off
Try using alcohol to clean around and on top of the button to try and free it. Maybe it is stuck due to dirt and/or debris? If the button is stuck under the plastic outer covering, then find something small to press the button firmly that evenly distributes weight over the button and try dragging it out from under the surrounding monitors casement so it will pop up when back in place.
