Will not take a picture with flash
this URL is for the manual for your camera http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/pdf/index/a/finepix_av100_manual_01.pdf Page 28 explains how to toggle the flash on and off in different modes. It is easy and the explanation is short and clear. It is preferable to use a flash for fill light almost all the time so these modes are really great. However if you are in a low light setting you don't want the flash or you will get the 'snapshot' flash look. Try holding camera very steady and keeping the subject from moving too much and shoot without the flash. Once you get the hang of turning the flash on and off you won't hardly even need to look to do it....
How to print photo with date & time show?
The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

I do not know any solution so far but try this if you want to use your camera like normal:1. While in view/gallery mode, press and hold the view/gallery mode button.2. press the shutter halfway. it should take you to shooting mode. remember to hold the view/gallery mode button.3. use the camera as normal as long as you do not let go of the button.to go to view/gallery mode:just press the shutter button halfway from shoot mode without pressing other buttons.I hope this helps.

Press cursor-down (marked with a one-handed clock), then choose the desired delay. Start the self-timer by pressing the shutter release button.
Full details are in the "Using the Self-Timer" section of the manual (page 31 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one at

I am not able to connect with my compaq laptop celeron model, microsoft windows xp.
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or
Picasa.
How to initialized this card with out losing my pictures.
Not sure what you mean here. Have you already initialised the card and lost photos or do you want to initialise it without losing pictures already on it? If it's the first part you need to use some recovery software to get your pictures back. If its the second - you can't. Initialising a card will wipe the photos - and then you are back at 1 and will have to use some recovery software. The only way you can do it is to copy all the photos off the card first - then it doesn'r matter. Alternatively - buy another card.
Camera not starting
charge the battery overnight. try to test the voltage with unimeter/voltmeter to see if the battery is still alive. if battery is full (showing more than 3V voltage) - then camera needs to go to a repair center. if not . get a new battery
