The code between the labels indicates either you are using labels designed for another model or that it is thinking it has a shippinhg label opr some lareger type installed. IT is more likely to be the first option, you are usinjg the wrong coded labels

When I install the smart Label disk, I get this message. An internal error has occurred. close all programs and restart the system. Error 6

Although it says up to Windows Vista, you will see that it also says Windows 7 ready. Sometimes installing Windows Vista 64bit driver works on Windows 7.

You can also try Windows Update. Windows 7 Updates sometimes recoqnize your missing hardware and attempts to find drivers for them.

I've included a picture to help describe the loading process: Pulling the lever forward (3) releases the Platen tension. Feeding the labels from the bottom of the roll (4) into the slot shown. With the tension off the Platen you should be able to insert the label all the way through the printer

It would help if you had mentioned the Operating system and model number The official Seiko site is: Software Driver Downloads However, Seiko has deleted its legacy printer support so you may have to find your drivers on a third party site SLP Related Drivers SII Printers Drivers Download for Windows 7 8 XP Vista Note: With Seiko Smart Label printers make sure your printer is not connected to your computer until the Seiko software tells you to. Important tips when finding and downloading application/ driver software from non-OEM sites 1. Never install any application from a non-OEM site that says it will scan your computer to determine what files you need. - search using the manufacturer name, model number, and current operating system on the computer you want to install the device on. 2. Only install the files you found. Never download any software suggested. 3. When installing the downloaded files, always select Custom Installation to make sure you only install the software you need. In this case only the application and driver files, nothing else ( no driver updating, security scanning, toolbar, etc. programs).

I have fixed this temporarily by going into Device Manager, finding Com Port 1, right clicking on it to disable it (you get a warning message), then immediately re-enabling it (right clicking on it and selecting 'enable'). This fixes the problem until the next reboot. Still looking for a permanent fix.
