Optimum set up for Polk Audio PSW 10?

Run 2 RCA cables from the two Purple connections on your Receiver (Labled "PRE OUT SUBWOOFER") to the Red and White connectors on the back of your Sub (it does not matter which Purple connecter you plug into either the Red and White)

Set the volume control on the Sub to about 75%, and keep the power switch in the "ON AUTO" position. To set the Low Pass value, look at the back of one of the front speakers in your setup, and note its frequency range (will look something like 100Hz - 17kHz). Set the Low Pass at a value slightly higher than the low value on the back of your surround speakers.

To set the phase switch, stand in the middle of the room with some music on (something with some bass, but not over the top bass) and have someone switch between 0 Deg and 180 Deg. Listen for which setting sounds "Louder and Fuller". This is the one you want. You will need to do this each time you move the Sub, as its position may change its phase in relation to the rest of your system.

Good Luck!

Polk sub DSW2000 fuse blows each time you switch it on.... How do i fix it or any circuit drawings or service help....Thanks for all replies

Sounds like your fuse is rated too low, try a heavier fuse or search Retrevo Manuals.com and you may find a manual.

My receiver has one pre-out will a psw10 work

yes but a sub woofer out is better. You may have to crank up the sub response. If it has a level on the sub with a crossover set the cross over to around 120hz. And set the bass on your receiver as you feel appropriet.

My polk audio psw10 subwoofer has a concent sound

The capacitors in the amplification module on the back side of the subwoofer unit (unplug and unscrew amp unit) usually are the second components to check after the fuse. They look like black batteries with white text defining their ratings. It appears to be a commonly under ratted capacity for those that challenge the upper limits of their surround system capacity. (Poor neighbors) These act very much like a battery but quickly build a charge and then release a charge. These can be replaced with higher capacity units that are larger in size and may need to be relocated with extended wires to handle the power demands by the user. They can be ordered online and replaced after discharge and soldered into the proper terminals. The Proper Positive and negative terminals must be followed for proper function when replacing.

Internal fuse keeps blowing out.

Suspect an overload in either the power section or the main amp semi-conductor. Look for parts that are damaged or get hot.
