Camera freezes when I try to review pictur

My advice is to remove the card and back up the photos on a computer, then format the card from computer then from camera. Test, if it still freezes card is probably dead. Cheers

Memory card

I have seen elsewhere that the camera was not originally capable of handling a card larger than 1GB. But have also seen where it may be possible to update/upgrade the camera's firmwear to handle larger cards. The update would be available on Kodak's website. Here is a link to the user's manual if you need it. http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/urg01114/C142_xUG_GLB_en.pdf

My SD high capacity memory card won't work

You call it a SD high capacity memory card, but does it say SDHC on the card, or SDXC. our camera only can use Multi Media cards, SD and SCHC cards (max 32 GByte). So no go for SDXC cards. Still a few things could be wrong if you have a SDHC card. The lock switch on the card could be in the wrong position and the card could have a wrong format. If you did format it in a PC, you should have formatted to FAT 32. But the best format is the format in the camera. Before you do so, be sure there are no import ants files or pictures on the memory card, because they will be lost.

Lens obstructed

Oh dear. Unfortunately this is common with many lenses that extend and retract on these cameras. Fuji is also known to have similar issues. At some stage, the camera has been knocked while the lens has been extended. You may deny this, however - it doesn't take much to knock those little suckers out of alignment. Even as simple as putting it down on the table will do it! It cannot be fixed with 'layman' fingers and needs to be seen by a technician. Cost can be >$50 and may take a week or more to be returned...worse case - still UNFIXED!

Will not work

Try to find out if there is something else obstructing the free movement of the lens barrel. And then try to find out if your battery (yes) are still ok. If they can't give enough power, the motor to drive the lens, can't work and the camera also "thinks" the lens got stuck. Sometimes, a gear that is involved with moving the lens became broke. If that happens, only a repair shop can help.

Video sound

Do you hear the audio when you transfer the video to a computer and play it there? The camera itself will not play back the audio. See the NOTE at the end of http://resources.kodak.com/support/shtml/en/manuals/urg01114/urg01114c4s1.shtml

Download 3x

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
