My kodak easyshare m530 will not turn on. I push

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Memory card is protected {reset switch on memory Card} ? Go To review

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How does a USB connector work

If you have the right lead the small connector should plug into the camera (the socket might be behind a door or flap) and the large connector into the PC or laptop. When the camera is on the PC should 'see' it and open up a file window rather like the ones you normally see for files. You can then drag and drop the picture files where you want them. When you have finished REFORMAT YOUR MEMORY CARD in the camera. I cannot overemphasise this.

Screen has a white stripe down the left hand side

Displays, sometimes get some damage, because something hit the camera, or when the camera falls. If it is a white line, and you don't see it back in the pictures you took, try to live with it. Replacing a display, most of the time is more expensive then buying a new camera.

Reset memory card

I think you mean you want to format the card. (wipe all the pictures and make it usable in the camera again) First be sure your memory card is not locked. The little switch on the side of the card should not in the locked position, because then you can't change any thing. You can't write to or format the card. Only reading the card (viewing the pictures) is possible. You then could format the card in the computer, if you have a card reader. Format with FAT 32. If you don't have a card reader you can use the menu in the camera. Page 36 says. Press Menu push the arrow right till you see Format. Then press the up, down buttons, to access the setting and press ok. After format, choose exit.

M531 pictures

Please don't try anything again, with the camera, before you have read this and you have all your pictures on the computer. Even when you have deleted all pictures there is a chance you can retrieve them. But saving one other picture can lower this chance. Formatting the card could narrow the chance to almost zero. Remove the memory card from the camera and place it in a card reader. Download the free software to recover your files on a memory card: http://www.memorycard.freedatarecoverysoftware.org And run the program. I hope you did not try anything with the camera or with the card, because with the software you can make the deleted pictures visible again. Please save the pictures to your computer as soon as the program shows them to you. After you recovered the pictures, you better format the memory card, to make sure no bad sectors are on the card. (Format the card in the camera, not in the PC)

Blurry pictures

I don't know how much experienced you are with a digital camera. Don't even know you have any experience with any camera. But the modern camera's are capable of taking sharp pictures, is used right. But to let the camera do its work correct it should be setup correct and used correct. Let me explain. Most camera's have a possibility to make pictures in automatic. (dail on the green camera symbol) But still there is more to do. Every camera has a point (or more points, that are used to focus the picture. You can use to put that point where you want the picture be in focus. Most of the time that would be the centre of the frame. But the camera can't focus in theoretical a blink of an eye. It needs some time, to find the focus by differences in contrast, or patterns. A DSLR sometimes can focus in less then a tenth of a second. Compact camera's could need up to one second, before they are in focus. So try to setup the camera to automatic. Place the focus marks (as described on page 6 of the manual. Then press the shutter realise button half and look if the camera can focus. If it can't, release the button and try again. When the pictures is in focus, then you can press the button fully. On page 33 of the manual, there are different modes of focus. be sure you use the mode you chose in the correct way. link to the manual I refer to.

POWER LIGHT BLINKING AND WON'T POWER ON

Did you check the battery? Because the capacity could be too low.Be sure your battery is charged and ok. If you do have a multimeter, you could check the battery. On the multiemeter the voltage should be a little (few tenths of a Volt) higher than what is printed on the battery. When it is just lower you have to charge. When after charging the voltage stays below the printed value, the battery should be replaced.

I have taken 8 pictures with my camera and we had

Apparently, you used the internal memory before putting in the memory card. Now the camera only wants to use the internal memory. Here's the fix...with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert the memory card. If this is a new card, you will need to format it in the camera, too. If there are any pics on it, download them first using a card reader if necessary, because the card will be completely erased.
