It sounds like your rechargeable battery is dead, I would take the camera with the charger to a camera store have them quickly check the battery with a meter before you commit to buy a new one, this way there is no guess work and you are not wasting money.

I HIGHLY recommend using LITHIUM Batteries..... in the higher capacities for a Digital Camera....They seem to last a lot longer than Alkaline. In my Compact Canon, I use rechargeables in a High capacity, with Lithiums as a backup for when I am out somewhere. Format the cards IN THE CAMERA..... as anywhere else they could be that tiny bit out.... I am not 100% sure why but it does happen. and if any problems when you connect to a Computer.... try a new Cable...... Good Luck and good shooting

Is the internal memory full? How many photos do you have in it?

If you want to keep the pictures on it, then you need to download them to your computer or put an sd memory card in the camera and move them to it. Your camera comes with a small internal memory so you can do one of the above suggestions. If the pictures are not worth saving , then you can format the card through the camera menu. This will delete all the pictures on the internal memory.

If you are using a memory card, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. Sound like a malfunctioning CCD-image sensor.
