The disconnecting can be a setting from the driver..made by mistake ..this is why I recommend to remove it ..and reinstall it from the disk ..

Yes you can, but you will most likely want to. If the screen is broken it will cost about $120.00 to get the replacement. You are better off using it as is or buying a newer model.
