This is a fairly frequent problem that is easily fixed. What happened was the snowblower's auger was either overloaded or got jammed (ice, debris - something other than snow). Rather than twist, damage or break the auger itself, an inexpensive part called a "shear pin" is designed to fail. A shear pin employed between the auger sleeve and drive shaft that is inside the sleeve. You may have broken one if one side of the auger spins) or both (if both sides of the auger spins). Purchase several replacements for your particular machine to have on hand. Do NOT replace s shear pin (or shear bolt) with a regular bolt under any circumstances! the motor runs but the auger does not , if so the bolt snapped in half from hitting something that you should have not hit , this is a normal thing so as to not blow up the engine , it is a safety feature in all snow blowers , just get the right bolt or make one grind it down to where it will break easy but will work the auger , they sell them on ebay for a couple bucks but I make mine

if its a old one then the drive wheel is always egaged. due to bushings worn out on the axle

be sure to check in blower housing (the round part) that impeller isnt frozen at the bottom can also take off belt guard (2bolts) and check to be sure belts are on correctly

Could be failing ignition module or needs valve lash adjustment... periodic requirement for BS OHV engines.

First check the safety switch under seat is working by bridging the gap.Try the same with the safety switch on hand brake.Check fuse hasn't blown.Check spark plug is intact and cable is correctly fitted.Check in line fuel filter.Ensure battery is fully charged, a drop in output will result in not starting.Hope this resolves the problem.Gareth

Take the belt to parts house and get a smaller belt. The old belt was stretch out of length. If you match the old to the new you just get a new version of the old stretched out belt
