Toshiba TEC B-572 Printer - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Tec 572 printer gives "no ribbon" error with ribbon installed
You have to set the ribbon type to be "non-transmissive" for black transfer film.
To set the ribbon type, turn the printer off. Then press and hold the "feed" and "pause" buttons while turning on the power. The printer will now be in diagnostic mode - you can page through the menus until it says "ribbon type"
Pick the correct type and press the "pause" key to save the value. Then turn off the printer and turn it on again normally. The ribbon error goes away.

Hi,
Normally the printer does not need an upgrade only the software driving it.
If your software uses a windows driver then download the latest driver at this link.

Ribbon error on B-EX4T1 with direct thermal labels
First of all, With any Toshiba label printer, after a parameter reset, you must send a label before doing a feed. Otherwise the printer will try to feed the ribbon.
You can use the setting tool to tell set the printer to direct thermal also.
Easiest way is to use the windows driver , add a label format coresponding to the one you are using, verify in the support tab that you are in direct thermal, do a test test print from the driver and you'll solve your problem
Temperature setting
chage the value in the temperature adjustment or directly on the printer in the adjusment menu, or use the seagull driver

Check the size (length of the label and check the type of detection.
- check if there is a feed adjust value in the printer ajustments menu and in the driver. to return to zero checkbox the advanced parameter and print a label to send zero values.
What are the settings for a TEC b-572 to make it print correctly, I am using win7 drivers
The printer knows nothing at all about labels, and isn't looking for any gap. I think you specified the wrong settings in whatever software you're printing the labels from - something in "Page layout" or "Format" or possibly "Printer Settings". You need to tell the computer software exactly what labels you're using, or exactly what your label specifications are.
