Two things: If firmware prior to 3.1 the you should not use topix graphics You can use ascii or compressed. If you use topics and the printer doesn't understand it then the line is displayed with error condition. Else you have a bad monitoring of the spool. B575 has monodirectional centronics port.

Its not out of media, the issue is calbration, this printer will need to be physically serviced to have it work correctly again. Thisd out of media is a sensor that has malfuctioned and thus reporting this error to you. check your label size!
Do a sensor callibration.
Don't forget to program the label to label distance.

Syntax error;
Wrong size of labels or wrong graphic types

2 x possibilities.

1. sensor may need moving to to see label edge (green knob at RHS)

2. possible sensor faulty. Only testable by substitution.

This is done this way
Printer off
Press Feed and pause keys while switching on
When (1) diag vXXX is displayed release buttons
Press once Feed
(2) parameters
key pause key until you obtain Ribbon Trans
press on feed or restart to have Ribbon Non Trans
press pause to save the new setting
Switch off and on
You have now non transmissive ribbon

Check in your printer driver if you are not in direct thermal.
Else you have a rewind motor out of order

It sounds as if the print head needs cleaning. Follow the instructions in section 10.1 of your manuaI If you don't have a manual you can get it here - http://www.toshibaprinters.com/technical_information/technical%20info.htm. If the cleaning doesn't work you will need to replace the head.

This may me due to various factors.
- The parallel port is only unidirectionnal. You should use ATcompatible for this port instead of ECP on the computer.
- The driver sends data in topix compression not understood by your printer.
- there is problem on your parallel port

The purpose of the knob if to change the position of the sensor. If you look at the sensor when turning the knob you'll find out that it moves forward (towards you) or backwards (away from you) This should allow you to place the sensor at the correct position. Further more, there are two holes on the plastic flag. the hole nearer to you is the transmissive sensor and the other is for reflective. Try to place the sensor at the correct position.

You should recalibrate your sensor without or use reflective sensor instead of transmissive.

By default the ribbon must me transparent.
Load the correct ribbon or chage the parameter to "ribbon notrans " should solve your problem

Various reasons for paper jam.
In peel off mode the paper is not detected after printing.
- recalibrate the sensors.
- Preprint callibration.
- Sensors do not conform to your CPU release.

If you are working with the driver, change in stock page direct thermal to thermal transfer.
