There are two sleeves that come down from the ceiling to the unit. Lift the bottom sleeve and you will see the control panel. The fuse is either inside the panel or next to the control panel itself. 8V fuse can be ordered from sears.com

Inspect the 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker on the fuse panel.
Turn OFF the circuit break before inspecting the hood unit.

There are three wires connected to the household circuit.
Make use all three wires are secure.

• Connect white leads to branch circuit white lead.
• Connect black leads to branch circuit black lead.
• Connect green/yellow leads to branch circuit green or bare ground lead.
• Secure all connections with wire nuts on each electrical connector.
• Push wires into junction box and replace cover. Be sure wires are not pinched.
The install may install the optional in-line fuse on HOT lead.
The standard color is BLACK on newer building.
One older building it will be RED.
Inspect / Replace the in-line fuse with the same value (if equipped)
Check fan for free movement
Change the filter element is it in service over 30 hours.

Have you opened the hood at all? Service instructions should be on the cover of the controller box. FYI the fuse is on the 12V side of the transformer so it which feeds triac controlling lights and controller board so nothing works when it blows.

If tou are not getting any power to range hood....the "GE Experts"(idiots) don't know that there IS a 250 Volt 8 AMP fuse located in the SS Duct directly above the hood...replace it and you are good to go....the expert...FWM

Sounds like the power is not connected correctly. Or posibly a wire is loose or broken inside one of the wire connectors. If you have a volt meter test for power in the connection box in the hood. Shut off the power at the electric panel, open the connection box, turn the power back on and carefully check for power. I have given a link to GE where the install manual is available for viewing or printing.

Your problem is: You have monogram (df 8 08989 9) hood it all of a sudden stop working , there is power (120v) coming in ' but nothing works

If you have the testing equipment and the ability then check the fuse then the transformer then simply follow the power till you see where it stops. Or yu might try utilizing the Repair Directory to find a repairman.

It is a safety lock and must not be disconnected. Wait until the water has dried.

Question edited for clarity. The bake element failed? Test for continuity. If it has a fan, test that too. If it is electronic, check the thermistor temperature sensor. For suspected control panels or mainboards, I always suggest dealer service so you get the correct diagnosis and warranty on the parts and the job. They are also expensive. ..

Most modern appliances like cookers and washing machines have the control panels and displays are fitted from behind the front panel, inside the machine. You will be better off getting a professional repairer to do it for you. *Remember* this is a Gas appliance that you're working on so BE CAREFUL. You might have to remove several other panels to get to the touch pad so if your going to do it yourself turn OFF the main gas supply first then make notes and take photos as you go.

There is a stuck micro switch somewhere. No reset found in the manual. You can try this and hope it works.. Turn off the circut Breaker to the stove for 5 minutes to see if it resets. Checking around the net I've only found "Item Discontinued"
