The NWZ-E435F Walkman Player can be recharged by connecting it to the running Computer USB port using the supplied USB Cable.The Battery icon will get displayed and indicates the icon during charging.
However, you can try using the AC-U501AD USB charging adapter for charging the Walkman player.

Try charging the battery. To do this, connect one end of the USB cable to the walkman (make sure the w. symbol is facing up), and the other end to your PC. To get a full charge, it will take approximately 4 hours and when it's done, you will see a battery indicator displaying "Full" on the battery. It maybe also that your battery life is used up. You get a certain number of charges (500)before your battery is used up. If that's the problem, you will have to get a new battery. Reply to this solution if this doesn't help.

The old one is using SonicStage software which is no longer compatible to your mp3 player. Just use windows media player instead.

The usb cord of these walkman is very cheap in eBay. Just make sure you'll get it from a US seller with high feedback.

If the line is showing up every time and its not changing its location, your out of luck, it will require an lcd replacement. And I think Sony does not cover such kind of problem.

Hi, OK, here is what to do, you hook up to your PC via the USB cable, that should have come with your player, now when you do this Windows will "pick it up" and install a Mass Storage driver, this then will make the Player look like a HDD. Now it should be visible in MY Computer. Find the "Drive" in MC, and then double click on the icon, it will now open up, just like the directories in your PC. Now just teat it like you would any other Drive, simply navigate to wherever the file are that you want to work with.delete, and simply click on the files and select, Delete, and do so, if you want to delete forever, hold the shift key down while Clicking on Delete.,or just delete the file, and then it will go into the recycle bin, trash, should you wish to recover it? If you wish to delete multiple files you can select with the mouse and holding down the SHIFT key, you can select contiguous files, if you wish to do random order files all at once, simply hold down the CTRL key at the time of selection.select what you want and then select delete.
you can also put whatever you want using Copy/Paste/Cut just as you would any other drive.

No just resetting it should not delete anything.

The most likely and frequent cause is moisture damage. If you use the unit while working out, sweat can run down the headphone leads and get in the unit. Rain and other sources can do it to.
There is probably a reset button on the back (A small hole) gently press with a narrow object and let go. it should restart if it is going to go.

It can be that the missing folders are missing because they are affected by the virus.
