I dropped my droid in water about two weeks ago. I removed the battery and placed the phone in a zip lock with some rice for several days to dry it out. Unfortunately I don't think it was dry enough when I powered it back on. While powering up, the screen started to flicker for a few seconds and then went black. In just the right lighting I can see all of the icons and the phone seems to fully function with the exception that there is no backlighting. I did not get the insurance and would like to know what it would cost to have it repaired.
If you're out of warranty, you can try to open the DROID and remove all traces of the waterdamage. There is a Droid Repair Guide that shows you how to take it apat. There are services that can do it for you. Droid Repair.

Touch Screen is unresponsive. Tried doing factory reset from recovery mode. Touch screen not responsive still and stuck at "Touch the droid to continue".
If Verizon doesn't replace it for you, you can find the touch panel at Droid Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at Droid Repair Guide.

My computer does not recognize my Motorola droid when i plug it in. how can i get it to work? I've already tried resetting it to factory settings.
In order for the computer to recognize the Droid, you must "Mount" it.
To do this, first plug in the usb cord to the computer and the droid. Then touch the notification bar on the top of the droid and draw your finger down. Touch "USB connected". A popup screen appears asking you if you want to "Mount". Choose "Mount" and the Droid will appear as another drive on your computer.
Hope that helps.

Welcome to FixYa,
Check the Following Carefully:
To Hard Reset 1. Turn the Droid off. If it won’t turn off, take the battery out then place it back in.2. Open the keyboard and press the X key while pressing and holding Power. The device will power on. Keep holding the buttons downuntil a yellow triangle appers.
3. Press the Camera and Volume Up buttons at the same time to get to the menu. (I had to press them several times).
4. Use the direction pad to the right of the keyboard to select the Format option.
Update or Recovery Follow this Link Carefully...Your Problem will surely Solved....To download a user manual here....

My droid keeps freezing and freking out. How can I fix it
FREEZING OF PHONE
Hi, when a phone randomly freezes, it means that the phones memory is faulty or when an application you downloaded has virus.
What to do is this,
You will have to flash the phone to restore the memory of the phone.
You can use this link to see how to flash your phone
hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Flash-your-cell-phone
and
unlocktotalk.com/UnlockCodeInstructions.htm.
Take care.

How do I stop my text from being underlined everytime I type a text message on my Droid X. I know How to clear the underline, but I don't want it underlined in the first place.
I am having the same problem with Droid 2. It is underlining everything I type in an app or text, and I can't make it stop. I know how to lock and unlock caps and alt, but this is not the problem. Already tried removing the battery, but the problem remains. It didn't start doing this until I accidentally pushed several buttons on the bottom left side of the slide out keyboard when I was opening it.

battery ok OK to Program Transfer Mode: USB
The phone somehow was put into programming mode. This is usually accomplished by holding the up arrow while starting the phone. To boot normally all you should have to do is pull out the battery and put it back in. Then just start the phone as normal, careful not to hit any keys on the keyboard while doing so.
