your ALT key (at least one of them) is stuck.
Clean the keyboard, and/or repeatedly press the ALT keys until this action is rectified.
Do the same with the CTRL keys too for good measure.

Did you get a set of restore disks with laptop? Or did you make the system restore disks yourself when you got the unit? If neither apply you are out of luck and you can do either one of two things.- contact the manufacturer for restore disks or just get a hold of the OS disks for the system you want and do a clean install. Of course, the latter will not include any of the software that came with your machine initially.

Try holding fn key and hitting scroll lock or num lock to see if that does it. sounds like you have somehow locked your fn key on.

cmos bateryy resets just the ios passwords. For windows , press f5 uittill the system is booting, enter in safe mode, go to control panel, accounts and set a new password for your account

Can you give more description on how your screen is zooming? is it zoomed already when opened or is it zooming while working ?

Resistors are not sold by voltage, but by their resistance and the max power they can dissipate. The value is usually printed on it as a three digit number (e.g. 473 means 47000 ohms). If you cannot read anything - you said its blown - youre out of luck. You could find someone else with the same PC and look at his motherboard. Anyway - if a resistor is blown, there is a reason for it. It is not a bomb, so it wont blow on itself. Probably something in your PC is defective, which causes the resistor to blow.

This is most probaby because of a loose display cable connection .As the cable runs through the hinge slot to the mainboard of the laptop, open the laptop full and try pressing carefully on the left side of the laptop near the hinges area. this should give you the display back.
