How can I solve the following problem? My Epson NX415 does not recognize non eom cartridges. It started to recognize these cartridges then suddenly stoped.

In some cases it is because you may have gotten cartridges from a different supplier who does not "chip" their cartridges. Their philosophy is let the buyer beware. The true solution to the problem is to buy OEM cartridges. I hate to sound trite, but why do you think they sell the printers so cheap anyway? It is so they can make the money off the ink.

Reset ink levels

If you're referring to the OEM/Original cartridges the short answer here is "You can't!".However you can opt for alternative ink supplies in the form of Refillable Cartridges or CIS (Continuous Ink Supply) systems as these use Auto Reset Chips (ARCs) to reset the ink level.Obviously you have to make sure they really are full of ink but it's a much simpler approach than trying to reset original cartridges.Hope that's of some help.

I have an epson printer and when I hit print, the paper slides right thru & says paper jam

  • Carefully remove the jammed photo paper. Gently pull the paper up and out of the paper feeder tray.

Reload the paper into the tray. Stack the paper on a flat surface and then carefully slide the paper stack straight into the paper feeder tray---along and aligned with the right side of the tray. Secure the stack in place by sliding the left "edge guide" against the paper stack.

Press the "OK" button to resume printing. If you had a "Paper is jammed in the printer..." error message displayed on the control panel LCD, pressing "OK" should also clear the message.

Pull the paper from the printer, if the status message reappears and/or the printer doesn't print, and check the paper for folds, buckling and curled edges or corners. Also check the sheets for sticking. If any of your sheets stick or have damage, remove them from your photo paper stack and replace with new sheets. Reload the paper and press "OK" to try again.

    I bought the printer to

The paper jams are detected based on their effects:
1 - the bunched paper is harder to pull so the current that passes thru the motor that moves the rollers increases beyond the safe levels so it's shut down to prevent it from damaging.
2 - the bunched paper is a lot thicker than a normal sheet so it presses on the roller. To prevent the roller snapping or destroying its plastic bearings under the pressure of the paper one of the bushings is allowed a little play in it's socket. So when the paper is pushing the roller upward it actually moves a little - doing that it presses on a small switch that triggers the jam warning and stops the roller motor.
Look extremely carefully inside your printer - if you can't see any trace of paper then one of the rollers is triggering the warning because either someone has used the printer before and has done that in the worst possible way and has damaged it, or this is a manufacturing defect: the roller has been badly installed.
To fix it the roller that triggers the warning must be found and pressed firmly in it's normal place. For that the entire printer will have to be completely dismantled - a very complex job for someone with experience. If the printer is still in warranty just take it back to the seller and replace it. If it's out of warranty i'm afraid that it;s time for a new one, it will be cheaper to get it than to fix this one.
