Recall on like Dishwasher--when they repaired mine I think the put in bad part
There was a recall on certain models of Kenmore dishwashers. This recall was to replace the heating element. If it lasted a year it is possible that the element could have went bad again, but not likely. There are several things that can cause the thermal fuse to blow. I would recommend having and authorized repair company take a look at it for you as the part they installed over a year ago would no longer be under warranty.
I hope this helps.
Need instruction manual
Yes you put the dishwasher soap in the soap dispenser. Then you close the lid to it. then shut the door and start the dishwasher.
Having a problem with a white powdery substance Model 17602
The sump may be full of debris here is how to check it:
ok in the dishwasher you will see you lower spray arm. take it off. now
going up the back is the supply tube. you need to pop it off of thed
top then the back and turn it clockwise to get it off the motor. after
you do that you will see 4 torx screws. take all 4 out and you will be
able to remove the fine filter. thats the normally grey piece with all
the slots. after you remove the filter you will see two more torx
screws. remove them they are for 2 seperate pieces one is the foreigh
food seperator and the other is the chopper cover. remove both of them
and clean the whole thing out. as yiou are puytting it back together.
let me know if you get stuck
I have the Kenmore Plus
It sounds more like a failed pump.
Does it circulate the water while washing dishes?
You might check the junction where the dishwasher connects to your drain under the sink.
Often, they empty into the garbage disposal.
The inside of that junction has a tendency to clog with food (especially grease) and the pump of the dishwasher doesn't produce much pressure, it is more designed for volume.
Power going to dishwasher but nothing happens??
Gina, you probably blew a thermal fuse that sits on the control board. Easy fix. Have your husband first check the wiring to the dishwasher. Remove the toe panel and make sure the wire nut connections are good. If that is ok, he will have to remove the inner door screws to get to the control board. Lift out the inner door. Remove the control board cover, it just snaps off. He will see the thermal fuse on the upper right side. I will attach a photo of what it looks like...Catriver...post back
My older built in Kenmore 3380957 Rev.A dishwasher.
If it is doing when it is washing, then it likely to be a problem with the pump, but it might just be 'hunting' because the filters are partially blocked. There is the filter that you can see easily, but there is a fine filter underneath that blocks with fine grey lint.
Water left in the bottom can be caused by that because the drain pump is past the filter and is on a timer.

Kenmore dishwasher model 587 has ERR code and lights flashing.
If you're experiencing an ERR code and flashing lights on your Kenmore dishwasher model 587, it indicates an error or fault in the dishwasher's operation. Unfortunately, without specific details about the error code or which lights are flashing, it's challenging to provide a precise solution. However, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check the owner's manual: Refer to the dishwasher's manual for a list of error codes and their meanings. It should also provide troubleshooting steps specific to your model.
2. Power cycle the dishwasher: Turn off the dishwasher by unplugging it from the power outlet or shutting off the circuit breaker that supplies power to it. Leave it disconnected for a few minutes to ensure a complete power cycle. Then, plug it back in or switch the circuit breaker back on.
3. Check for obstructions: Inspect the dishwasher's interior, specifically the spray arms, filters, and drain pump, for any obstructions such as food debris or foreign objects. Clean or remove any blockages that you find.
4. Run a diagnostic cycle: Some dishwashers have a diagnostic mode that can help identify the cause of the error. Refer to the manual for instructions on how to initiate the diagnostic cycle.
5. Contact customer support: If the issue persists or you are unable to determine the cause of the error, it's recommended to reach out to Kenmore customer support or a qualified appliance repair technician. They will be able to provide further assistance and help resolve the problem.
Remember, the specific steps and options may vary depending on your dishwasher model. Consulting the owner's manual is always the best course of action when troubleshooting appliance issues.
