That is the best way. Changing the combination is done from inside the door panel. This is a dial safe, so not quite so easy. Sentry will tell you the original code. Having said that, most people who can't open a combination safe are doing it wrong. It isn't like they show it in the films, one way to number, other way to number, back again to a number and it opens. You can ask Sentry Safe, but they charge and you need a signed affidavit that the safe is yours, and the serial number, BUT your husband has changed it.
