Sony Reader Touch PRS-600 - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Hi, How do I replace battery on Sony reader
That's tricky. In order to change the battery you have to open up the Reader. I wouldn't recommend that... and I'm surprised you would need to change the battery at all at this point. If you absolutely have to, contact Sony or take it to the place you bought it and ask if they change the battery on these devices.
I am getting the "unable to access ebook store
Has this happened to you before? If you access the Reader Store from your regular Internet Explorer can you access it? If that is the case, try downloading the Reader Library software once again.
I just bought my Sony prs 600 2 days ago got it
I have not had that problem with my Reader PRS 600 and I've had it since January. I hope you took it back to the store, if you didn't, do it right away. If not, send it to the guarantee or call Sony directly.
How can I increase the screen brightness in sony
The Sony Reader Touch PRS 600 doesn't provide any mechanism to increase screen brightness, only to increase or decrease font size. There are many cases with built in lights you can purchase for it, though.
If I connect my digital
- If you have an SD Card or other memory card installed in the device, make sure that the write protect tab on the media was no switched into the lock position.
- If you are using windows 7, make sure that you are not formatting the media using NTFS, this will carry user permissions to the media itself and make it difficult to write to on other XP, Linux, and Windows 2000 machines. The best practice is that when you format the device, use the device itself to format the drive and not the computer.
- Check to make sure that you have not filled the internal drive. RAM, stoarage, and working memory all pull from the same memory pool. If you open to many apps, have too many apps installed, or too much data...it will all cause the media to become on writable.
Let me know if one of these solutions doesn't work, there are other options...but these are the most likely.
- thanks.
Just started up my Reader PRS500 after months of
press the reset button, then hook it up to the PC... then turn it on. See if that helps.
If this is what happened to you may continue this steps.
1. You're stuck at "Reader starting up"
2. Paperclip the reset button then slide the power toggle.
3. When the screen goes blank, quickly connect the PC usb cable.
The Reader should reboot and show the USB connect in a minute or so, then you can use the Sony Updater to reflash your Reader.
That would also clear your question about how to erase read books
New, purchased in USA. Downloaded
Hi, when first used the reader needs to calibrate the touchscreen. To this end, little 'X''s will appear in the corner of your screen. You need to tap in the middle of those. My best guess is that since you randomly tapped the screen instead,it figured that there was something wrong with the device, hence the error.
Start it up again and look for the tell-tale 'X' somewhere on screen - I don't recall where the first one appear, either a corner or the center I think, but it should be fairly obvious.
If after doing this which is the only way of correcting a "Calibration Error", then you have to return to the point of purchase and request for a new one.
Take care

Hi there,
Well sorry to say that you can't adjust the screen brightness in this model. I found it's troublesome though to read in darkness because you can't adjust the brightness.

Hi,
This is a well known Problem. This is an Overdrive Problem. The adobe titles receiving this error should work when the other
titles are removed from the reader. (You can apparently leave them in
either ADE or the Sony library.) They recomend removing everything from
the reader (you can keep it in ADE) and then loading the content you
want back. I think this means one borrowed book at a time-kind of
defeats part of the purpose of an ereader for travel.
Or, I have
also found and they confirmed that if you add more titles of the same
type you can read one of that type, but not the other type. I added two
more books one of each type (EPUB and PDF) and then the one I was
reading (EPUB) got the protected page error, but all others works.
