All of sudden the current

This may happen on some Reader devices when you borrow a combination of ePub and PDF files for your Reader. Note: This does not occur on the Reader Daily Edition or the new Touch or Pocket Edition (PRS650/PRS350). To correct this issue please follow the procedure below:

1. Delete all borrowed eBooks from your Reader Device.
2. Transfer only the eBooks borrowed in the same format (either ePub only or PDF only) to your Reader.

Note: Please follow the same procedure if you want to borrow an eBook for your Reader in the other format.

My sony ereader prs-650 is

The Sony Reader used a special type of display; the LCD can retain an image without having power. It takes power while changing the pages. In most of the cases, if the power is fully discharged, the LCD will keep the last image that was displayed it makes an impression that the Reader is frozen. However, the Actual thing is, the screen retains the last image on the screen and there is no power to change the pages. These type of situations can be resolved by charging the Reader sufficiently.

Each step in my solution is a possible resolution. Hence I suggest that you perform each step and check the operation.

Charge the battery fully by connecting to a computer or by using a compatible AC Adaptor. It may take a few minutes (up to 15 minutes) to display the charging symbol if the Reader is fully drained in its last use.

Once the reader is charged fully (at least 45 minutes), slide the power button to turn ON.

Perform a soft reset. We can perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button on the Reader.

After the RESET button has been pressed, slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader device again. If the Indicator light next to the power button on the Reader device is yellow, the unit is attempting to start up. If this is the case, allow it a few moments to complete startup.
If the Reader is still not charging up properly, connect the Reader to computer or AC Adaptor and then press the reset button.

Disconnect the Reader device from the computer (if applicable) and then slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader device. Check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader device is yellow (indicating it is turning on) and if the unit is responding

If the unit is still frozen, connect it again to the computer or AC adapter and while connected, check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader device is red . If this light is red , allow the Reader device to charge for one hour so there is sufficient charge for troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, perform a hard reset to resolve the issue. Please follow the steps to perform a hard reset:

Under certain circumstances, moisture condensation can occur. Moisture condensation can be caused by moving the Reader device between temperature extremes or if the Reader device has come in direct contact with moisture. If you suspect moisture as the cause, allow the Reader device to sit for a few hours before attempting to turn it back on

I am unable to access eBookstore says I I have to

That has something to do with you computer and not the eReader. If your network to connect to the internet has a firewall or is blocked, you won't be able to connect. The eReader has no control over the connection to the net, as it only acts as the source for data to be stored on when you have downloaded books you purchase.

Sony RS-600 ebook new install. Reader has circle

the circle with the line through it should only be visible when you have the reader connected to a charger or computer. It thinks you are charging or transferring data. It is designed not to work unless the cord is unplugged. Charge the reader, remove your cable and it should work fine.

There is a reset button on the bottom of your reader. Use a small toothpick and insert it into the hole and press lightly. Your reader should reset (you won't lose your books).

My e reader prs 600 isn't holding a charge for

Without knowing the background of your experience with the unit, it is a bit hard to determine if it is a hardware / software problem. I suppose the first thing is to decide is, are there any habits that you have developed when using the unit that may contribute to the problem of rapid battery deterioration.

When you are using the unit, do you leave turned on for long periods in between reading sessions?
When you finish using the unit, do you switch off by gently sliding the off switch or do you completely turn it off by sliding the switch to the right and holding it for 2-3 seconds?
When you charge the battery, are you confident that the battery is fully charged before disconnecting? (The handbook will help to describe when this state is achieved.)

I guess you are using the unit properly in which case it is almost certain that it is a hardware / software problem and needs to be returned. If you go this route you probably either need a new battery or if the hardware is faulty, a replacement unit.

Despite the problems you are experiencing, I have to say that the normal cycle between charges of my PRS-600 is not as long as I expected or hoped. In my case, this is about 5-8 days of steady use at about 1/2 to 1 hour per day.

I transferred a PDF file

I am not an expert on PDF's and I also have no experience with Apple OS, but I use a Sony PRS-600 and I thought of something that may possibly help you.

There could be some formatting commands or conditions contained within your PDF file that conflict with the Sony software and prevent portions of the file from being accessed. I suggest you try to reformat the file to see if you can get a "clean" version of the file. To do this you will have open the document and select "Print", however this is done on the MAC. This will send the opened file to a virtual printer and format it into a PDF file, hopefully creating a fresh copy that will be readable on the Sony.

In order for to you to be able to "print" PDF files you will need to install a suitable print driver.. I assume there are print drivers for the MAC, just as there are for the PC. Check the following website for more information on PDF printing on MAC's.

http://en.kioskea.net/faq/454-pdf-for-mac-os

There are numerous other websites dedicate to the download of freeware that can help you set this up.

For example -
http://download.cnet.com/Convert-to-PDF/3000-2084_4-10914935.html?tag=mncol;7

Having enabled your computer to print PDF's, open the PDF file in question on your MAC. Make sure, as mentioned in your message that all pages are accessible, then select the print command and re-print the file to PDF again. Transferring the file to the Sony device will then confirm if this approach is successful. This is not a proven solution but worth trying nonetheless. Good luck.
