Just bought new battery, need toknow how to get
When you get new batteries for a cordless phone you need to let them charge over night. If you don't the battery will lose its charge much quicker. Now start by charging the batteries followed my plugging the base unit into the phone jack and the electrical outlet. The base unit is what sends out the signals to all the phones and is where your answering machine is located. Once the base is plugged in to the electrical socket and phone jack your phones should start receiving signal again. Make sure the batteries in the phones themselves are plugged in firmly and properly.

If you're talking about the answering machine greeting in the base unit, detailed instructions are here:

I have a new Uniden cordless phone. The handsets

the -4 or -5 refers to how many handsets you set. The 1580 is the actual model number.
To register I think all you do is place them on the master pad once then on their own charger stations. On some models they come all done so you just plug them in charge them up and use them.
Can I add another uniden hand set to a uniden D1680 series
The Uniden D-1680 system can have up to 12 handsets registered to the base. (The phone system was sold in bundles with 0 to 11 accessory handsets.) However, this cordless phone system has been discontinued. I can only find used DCX160 handsets (the compatible accessory handset) on Amazon and E-bay.
I hope this helps.

Sync 2 versions of Uniden Dect 6.0 to work off the same base.
Yes, you can join an older and a newer version of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones to work off the same base. Here are the steps to sync them:
- Disconnect the power cord from the base of both phones.
- Take the battery out of each handset.
- Wait for a few minutes.
- Reconnect the power cord to the base of the newer version phone and insert its battery.
- Wait for the phone to register on the base, which should take a few seconds.
- Once the newer phone has registered, repeat steps 4 and 5 with the older version phone.
- The older version phone should now register on the same base.
- Test the phones to make sure they are working properly.
If for some reason the phones do not register on the same base, refer to the instruction manual that came with the newer version phone for further troubleshooting steps.

(Uniden landline phones can make or receive calls; some models have a answering system. Most current models can even check if you have messages on the telephone provider's voice mail. (Sometimes, they'll give spurious voice mail information.) However, they don't have any built-in way of seeing any data (another call) from the telephone provider when the phone is in use.)
