Depending on what the file type is you can always try another application to open up the book for example if it is a pdf format you can always try using adobe reader. However, I believe the issue here is that there is a page that might have been corrupted or unviewable depending on the situation you may want to consult whoever you got the book from in case you had purchased this book to see if you can maybe get another copy.

You have asked us to delete books from your tablet. We cannot do it unless we are holding the tablet. You will have to do it.

There are 2 ways. First being the easiest, since it can delete multiple books at one time. USB connect the PRS-300 to the PC. (It will read as a hard drive.) Go to the "database" folder, then to the "media" folder, then into the "books" folder. All your eBooks should show there, and you can choose which ones you want to delete and delete them all at once.The second way only deletes 1 book at a time. Choose the book, then choose "Continue Reading" to open the book's menu page ("Options") on the reader. On the "Options" menu, choose "Utilities". When the "Utilities" menu comes up, press 2 for "Delete Book".

Try letting it charge overnight while you sleep.

If you are using the PRS-300, then you need to get a PSP charger (AC-Adapter/wall plug) to charge it.

To charge a PRS-300, you need an AC-Adapter (wall plug) from a PSP console.As for the syncing problem, you may need a new USB cord.

There's a small hole on the bottom used to reset the reader. I suggest you get an ink pen with a fine point or a toothpick or paper clip, and press in there to reset it.I have had this problem with my PRS-300 before, and that usually fixes it. Sometimes, it erases all your books from the reader, though, but you can easily put them back on via USB.

This issue may be caused by the Data Execution Prevention feature in the Windows Vista operating system or if certain folders used by the Reader Library software are corrupt. please look clearly there will be a reset button to restart if there is no reset button then open it with the help of secrew and cut the connection of battery and after few second reconnect the bettery to to turn on but remember the connection should be same as before the cutting mean to and - to - terminals

There is no firmware update for PRS300, I checked on their website www.esupport.sony.com. Maybe sometinhg got corrupted on the internal memory. You can try to do a "Hard Reset" on the eReader. This will set the unit to factory settings and will delete all content:


1. Disconnect the Reader
2. Hit the Reset button at the bottom of the Reader
3. While the reader shows 'Opening Book...' press and hold the number '0' (Zero) and the 'Down Arrow' both at the same time until reset all appears
4. Once you do that you will get a confirmation saying that all content will be removed you just press number 5 to confirm

If this does not work, contact Sony for service options =(

ecause of e-ink technology, sometimes it may appear that the reader is frozen, you can try to reset the reader

1. Disconnect the Reader from the Computer

2. Hit the reset button for 3 seconds at the bottom of the unit with a paper clip

3. Slide the power switch, the screen will blink and will show "Opening Book". Allow the Reader to load.

You can try to do a "Soft Reset" on the Reader. Do not worry, this will not affect your ebooks =)

1. Disconnect the reader from the computer
2. Hit the Reset button at the bottom of the unit for 3 seconds with a paper clip
3. Slide the power switch at the top of the eReader
4. The screen will blink and show opening book.... allow the reader to load

If you forgot your password, then the only option is a hard reset, but this will remove all content in the reader =(

Also, the DO NOT DISCONNECT message is normal operation while the reader is connected, to have this message disappear you may need to safely remove hardware on the system tray

The message that you are not allow to copy the book, you may need to check if you are using the same ebookstore account, if you are using the same, follow these steps:

1. Connect the reader
2. Sign in to you ebook account
3. Click on my account link at the top
4. Click Manage Devices link
5. You will get a message that a new device is detected, click on authorize
6. You will be asked to reauthorize the device

1. Connect the reader to the AC Adapter (If available). If not, then connect the Reader via USB to the computer

2. Hit the reset button for 3 seconds.

3. The red steady light should come on, if not, try the reset again while the unit is connected

4. Allow the reader to charge for 40 Minutes (on PC make sure the computer does not go into sleep mode.

5. Disconnect the reader and see if operational.

You can try to reset the unit and recharge it again.

This operation will not affect your ebooks:

1. Leave the unit connected to the adapter
2. Hit the reset at the bottom for 3 seconds
3. Slide the power switch (the screen will blink and boot up)

If after that the proble still persist, you can try a hard reset. NOTE: This will set the reader to factory settings and will delete all you content.

1. With the unit connected to the AC Adapter, hit the reset button at the bottom for 3 seconds
2. Slide the power switch
3. While the reader shows "Opening Book" press and hold the "0" button and the directional down arrow at the same time, until " Reset All" appears on the screen
4. Press number 5 to confirm and turn the unit back on
5. Try recharge unit and disconnect it and see if that works

If these steps do not work, then contact Sony to get the unit repaired.

Probably a corrupted book that will not transfer, I recommend you to check book by book to see if ther is one that is not displaying on the Sony Software, also you can disable sync, here's a link how to do it:
