I have 40''polaroid lcd(4011TLXB). Powers up like normal with LED changing from red to blue then screen turns black and LED remains blue. I've tried unplugging power cable and waiting a few minutes be

I also had blown capacitors on my power supply. You can see when they're bad: the tops split or bubble up like a dome. I changed most of the caps, just to be sure, and it fixed the problem. Careful of the larger capacitors. They stay powered for some time and can shock you pretty badly. Good Luck

Polaroid TV screen will not always come on.

Are you talking monitor rather than tv? I have an LG 22 inch monitor and the on off button is on the bottom, If I don't hit it right or just tap it, it won't turn off but flashes. Where do you have it plugged in? Is it with some other electronics, or right to the wall outlet? I'm really at a loss as to what your problem really is. Are you using the remote? One quick fix might be the battery's in the remote. If they don't have enough power, short or no signal will be sent to tv or not being able to decipher it.

Have a 32 in polaroid hdtv and the color is all

Actually it sounds like your component cables need to be changed. If you are connecting with component cables please try another set (if you buy a new set like from Radio Shack make sure you can get a refund if that is not the problem and you need to return them).

What would make the t.v have lines running

It could be any number of things. Try to use systematic diagnostics to trace where the fault lies. Start at input end of system to find out which bits work and which don't.
  1. Do you get a picture using a video recorder, dvd player, gaming console? If yes the problem is with your tv signal.
  2. Connect a different tv to your antenna / satelite dish /- can you get an analogue picture? If no the antenna (aerial) may be faulty
  3. Does the satelite receiver / digital terrestrial (e.g Freeview) receiver give you a picture on a different tv? If yes it could be either a technical fault with your tv or it needs retuning to the correct stations (enter setup menu and reinstall stations as per user instruction manual)

40''polaroid lcd(4011TLXB) has power to it but no

Power supply module is to supply voltages to the main control board (the board where the TV cable and video cables are connected to), backlight inverter board. You can buy the whole control box which has both board assembly (power supply and the main control board): http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=Polaroid+4011-TLXB+&limit=25

We were going to use our 4011-TLXB for a video

Does it work in TV mode?
It can be either the power supply is not putting out all the needed voltages, right now you only have the 5vdc standby voltage (because the RED lifght is on) or the backlight inverter board is bad, it is the board that drives the CCF lamps which is the light source for the screen, it may be bad or not getting the 24vdc from the power supply. worst case will be the main board that is not sending signals to turn on the power supply and the backlight inverter board.

I have a 40" LCD that sparked and will not turn on.

Turn it off and leave it off. It seems that your unit has some sort of major PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.

You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.
