How do I connect my K7 to a 1394 socket
Hi,Your Pentax K7 lacks firewire (1394) connectivity, so a connection to a fireware jack will not be possible without purchasing an inexpensive
Firewire to USB adapter . From the manual:Available Ports:
- USB 2.0 hi-speed, AV out, HDMI out, DC in, cable switch, 3.5mm stereo microphone.
- Video out: HD (1080i30, 720p30, 480p30), NTSC, PAL
- Printer interfaces: n/a
The I/O (input /output) panel on a Pentax K7 camera. You can connect a USB cable from the "PC/AV" on the camera to your computer's USB port with an appropriate cable to transfer image files for editing, etc. Additionally, you can send video directly to a TV with an appropriate cable via the camera's HDMI jack. I hope this helps!

I would like to purchase a Pentax K7 DSLR in
Pentax is not authorized to sell in India officially. Any cameras bought there are considered "Grey Market" and imported from other countries where Pentax is officially represented. There are no authorized service centers or showrooms in India. You can order online off of eBay or one of the major web retailers, and they will ship one to you, however there will likely be taxes and import duties associated with this. Also, the Pentax international warranty is not active in India, making repairs very expensive and requiring high shipping fees for repairs.
If you decide to buy the camera anyways, keep in mind that purchasing any lenses or other accessories will need to go through the same process as described above. Pentax may not be your best option, but rather choose a Nikon or Canon, as they are officially represented in India and you will likely have a much better experience and less hassle this way. Until Pentax is represented in India, the process of getting your gear could be very painful and expensive.
Thank you for choosing FixYa!

yes they will, I have a 70-300 myself.
As a rule, ANY k-mount lens will work on any of the new pentax cameras to some extent.
At any rate you can shoot some very nice pic with even the oldest lenses. Manually ofcourse.
With an adapter you can even use m42 screw lenses too.

What is the best to
The K7 is such a complex camera that it would be impossible to explain what to do without writing you a book. As it happens, there is a book that explains in detail, every feature of the camera. It's called the "Magic Lantern Guide" Pentax K7. If you Google "magic lantern guides" it will take you to the site where you can order the book.

There is nothing wrong with your camera. You nailed the explanation....your meter thinks there is plenty of light and cuts down the exposure. Two ways to do this:
1. Point your camera toward the part you want properly exposed and press the exposure lock button. Then, recompose, focus and shoot.
2.Press the exposure compensation button and set a lower number.

Why does it take so long to show to the photo after I press the shutter button?
The picture displays after the file has finished saving - if the speed of your SD card is slow, it can take quite a while before the picture is displayed. It also takes a while (up to a minute or more) if the shutter speed is low and the picture is mostly black (taking nighttime moon shots for instance).
Try using a better quality (higher speed) SD card.
Why isn't my K100D Flash not working?
Hi,
please ensure that you've not used the camera for more than the advised amount of time by the manufacturer. Also, you can attempt to use the same brand/type of batteries as was including with your camera when you got it. Some manufacturers put internal fimware/software restrictions on their devices. For printers, this would be done for cartridges and in the case of your camera, it would be for batteries.
Lastly, I would check that your sd card isn't full before calling Pentax to refer you to a repair shop.
Thank you.
Pentax Espio 60S "E2" error
Hi for anyone reading this! My 60s was just flashing with this but I fixed it. Took the batteries out, swapped them and that didn't work. Tried to put the old ones back in a few minutes later and then it was fine! Just fiddle around with it. Hope this helps.
