What is the problem of error code 008-164

reopen the cover and look inside with a flash light, there maybe a tiny piece of paper stuck in there you missed, take some compressed air and blow it in there to clean out dust, the talcum powder on the paper, builds up on the sensors, making them think it has paper there.

There's no reset for that error, the error indicates that the 1st BTR did not reach the retract position. Try clean the 1st BTR Retract Sensor and look for damage. Also check the gears for breakage.

Changing the Toner Cartridge sensor is not an easy task. However if you want to start playing with the internals, firstly you would need to remove external panels. some sensors look the same and are not interchangeable, but the ones that are, would be easy to spot. If you have a faulty cartridge sensor it would be interchangeable with the others. Try it, and see what the response you get. a Xerox service might pay you dividends. Good luck.

The error means that the interval of the ROS (C) signals exceeds the specified value. The normal problem is a bad mcu board. Measure the value between PJ401 on the MCU board and and ground for +5vdc. You may have an exit sensor POB that need adjusting or replace registration assembly

To enter the CE mode:

1. Press and hold the 0 key for 5 seconds, then while still holding down the 0 key, press the Start button. The CE Access Number screen will appear.
2. Enter 6789 and press Confirm.
3. The top most area of the UI display will be reversed to let the user know that the mode has changed to the CE mode.

2. Remove and Re-install the Toner (Dry Ink) Cartridge
3. Power Off the Printer, Then Power On

That's a open conection in the fuser, recommend replacing the fuser part #

Ensure that you are intalling the correct print driver, www.xerox.com, support section.Also check to make sure that the colour option in the printing preference is not set to Black and white or grayscale.Also ensure that you dont have any accounting option set to black and white only.

Open and close the paper tray 3.The tray information screen will be displayed.Select CHANGE SETTING on the touch screen.You should now be able to change your setting.

update your print driver to latest version and make sure you select Win 7 (32 or 64 bit) as OS if not already selected. once loaded, rt-click on printer, select Print Prefs, goto Advanced Tab, expand Paper selection and Enable Banner Page.
