Denon AVR 789 no display

Time to send back to Denon (seriously). Hopefully you have a warranty on your product (I bought mine at Fry's and it took a few months for the warranty work to be performed). Good luck!

I had the unit set

Plug something other than Zone 2 into the splitter, say, any tape out on the Denon. Keep it simple. Play FM.

When and if THAT works go back to the manual and analyze why Zone 2 isn't working. Observe the Zone 2 Output indicator. (Page 5)

You must have a TV or other speaker-capable device that you can run Zone 2 OUT to. Try that to prove your setup works.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Hi, I have a Denon

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

Is there a way to connect my HP laptop to my Denon

Yes, you can buy an adapter that takes the 3/8'? connector and splits it to red/white RCA plugs. You can get these at Radio Shack or email me and I will sell you the one I have. I imagine its easier to go to Radio Shack though!
Best of luck!

NO sound or picture

Hello there,

For clarification of the problem. Is there any sign that the unit is getting power from it power source?

Did you do disconnecting all the the connection and unplug the system from the wall outlet, and test it to other power outlet?

I would like to request to give me more information about the device.

Thanks.

Regards,
micro~

Size of fuse for Denon dra 697

The Denon DRA-697CI stereo receiver typically uses a 250V, 2.5A fuse. However, it's always a good idea to consult the user manual or check the label near the power input on the device itself to confirm the exact fuse size and specifications for your particular model. Using the correct fuse size is important for safety and to prevent damage to the receiver. If you're unsure, you can also contact Denon customer support for assistance.

Fuse size for Denon DRA 697 c!

The Denon DRA-697CI is a stereo receiver. Typically, the fuse size for electronic devices like stereo receivers is listed in the device's manual or on a label near the power input. It's important to use the correct fuse size to ensure proper protection against electrical faults. Without specific information about the fuse size for the Denon DRA-697CI, I recommend consulting the device's manual or contacting Denon's customer support for accurate information. Using the wrong fuse size can potentially damage the device or pose a safety hazard, so it's crucial to verify the correct specifications.

I have a old Denon DP-47F turntable, if I pressed the Arm lifter button, the tonearm can be slowly rising, but if Down, the tonearm will suddenly go down, no buffering. Please ask how to fix it.

Check and clean the dampening piston(s) associated with the raise / lower mechanism. The silicon oil may have dried up or leaked out.
