JVC KD-A305 Questions & Answers
No power
Yes the yellow needs to be connected to 12v power but so does the red one....the red is for when you switch the key, (switched power)..if u want to test it then hook yellow and red together and hook to a reliable 12v source.....then properly connect the black to a good ground....if it does not power then the radio is bad....if it works then it just needs to be wired properly inside the vehicle......yellow is constant, red is switched, black is ground, blue is accessory switched, and the dual ones are for speakers...i hope this is helpful...

My JVC-SD5 lights up, plays Music, but the lid won't open, any suggestions?
It seems like you're facing a little hiccup with your JVC-SD5. There's some troubleshooting ideas...
Firstly, make sure the CD player is powered off and unplugged from the electrical outlet. Safety first, right?
Now, take a good look around the edges of the CD lid. Sometimes, dust or debris can accumulate and prevent it from opening smoothly. Grab a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe the edges of the lid. Make sure to remove any obstacles that might be blocking it.
If that doesn't do the trick, let's try a little trick called the "manual release." Look for a small, pin-sized hole near the CD tray. It's usually located either on the front panel or underneath the CD player. Take a paperclip or a small, pointy object and insert it into that hole. Apply gentle pressure to trigger the manual release mechanism. This should pop open the lid, giving you access to your beloved CDs.
Once the lid is open, inspect the CD tray and the surrounding area for any visible signs of damage or obstructions. If everything looks fine, try closing and reopening the lid a few times to see if it starts functioning properly. Sometimes, a little exercise can go a long way in resolving minor glitches.
I hope these suggestions help you get your JVC-SD5 back in action and free you from that unwanted station! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Good luck!
