Try to use Apple iPhoto which is a part of ilife Suite.
If that doesn't help then best method is to use Windows Virtual Machine.

1. Install VMware Fusion for MAC.
2. Install Windows OS in VMware.
3. Boot Windows in VMware.
3. Connect your Camcorder to MAC and it will ask Do you want to Connect it with Windows VM or MAC.
4. Select connect to windows.
5. Install the Drivers from provided Camcorder CD to windows.
6. Now you can transfer Photos and Videos.

P.S. : Alternative method to use Windows on MAC is B0otcamp Drive. And you can also Bootcamp Partition on VMware Fusion which will run Faster than any other VM Machine.

Maybe they are not detected by the cable ...I would insert the card (the SD card ) directly into the card reader and copy them from the card ...If you are sure that he videos were saved on the card ...and they are visible on the camera's playback ..than it has to be seen cause this model of the camera takes videos in mpeg2 format and this is a very common format ...all computers can play them back ..and see them with almost al players ..
you can though try to install a codec for the divx and see if with the codec they are visible .....from the forums I read about they all say thay had problems in Imovie..cause it do not reads the mpeg 2 formt ..and it supposed to ger a codec for mpeg2 in quicktime...and it costs about 20 $ ..but it will let you import them in Imovie..but Im not sure about the length f the files after you save them ...It may save them in another format like ..DV and will be almost huge ..
But if you only want to keep them in this format and be able to watch them ..than the codec will fix it ..

Also you will see a free one ..the second..named..mpeg streamclicp ...it supposed to let you see them and import for conversion into DV format ..try it also if you think that you have enough space ..cause it may make them large ..but good quality ..

NO, you need to re-master the Video, and then save as say in an MPEG4 format, then using a Movie making software, edit the "Movie" and "Add" the sound tracks etc. You could either save it to a Memory stick, or stream it to the PC, via, link, and save it. Then do as related above.
