Try using this software, Image Burn. It works for me every time. I gave up on all others. This program will burn ISO's to ISO's, it will burn ISO's to Boot Disks, it will make files into ISO's, it does it all.

Also, just to clear up the term, when you burn a ISO you are generally trying to make a bootable disk, you are not actually burning the ISO, but expanding and burning the files onto a CD or DVD that you will use to install something on another computer.

MY LG DVD drive not playing or recording. Does not show existence on MY Computer list

Better first checking the connections to it. It might have somehow become disconnected. Then do a hardware search. Also look at your hardware profile, see if there are any unknown devices. You might have to re-install drivers.

Hello, maybe you're missing a vital codec....so google "codec download" and find a site from which you can download a full suite of codecs (no charge) and it may fix your problem.Else, what media player are you using? try opening it with windows media player. (You'll prob. still need codec download)

CAUSES BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

It's most likely faulty, swap it for a new or know good unit and test this is the only way to tell. It's that or the SATA port itself, but that's unlikely.

Not read any disk

If your DVD drive is not reading any disks then you want to check that it is detected when you double click My Computer.

If it is detected and it does not read disks then the drive may be faulty. This in technical terms would either be on a hardware and on a software level.

What you can do is update the firmware of the DVD drive. Updating the firmware is the last thing you want to try. As a failed attempt will render your drive dead. So do it once you have checked all connections and try all disk form various regions.

Check the region that the drive is set at, Right click on My Computer in the Start menu and select properties. Now click device manager. Then click on your DVD drive in the list and select the properties of the drive. Under the region tab ensure that it is set to your region.

To flash the firmware of your drive you will need to visit the LG website and find the latest firmware update for your DVD drive. The model number must be exactly the same as your one. Download the file and read their instructions. Install the firmware, it may just do the trick and get your drive working again.

Take care!
