If cleaning it didnt help the video head needs to be replaced.

You will need to add a Firewire card to your Laptop, if it has a slot for this. Let me know the make and model of your Laptop and I will let you know what will work.

If you know what slots your Laptop has, here are a couple of Firewire adapter cards that will get you up and running:

I would sugest removing the lens cap (protective cover over the lens) and see if that does the trick.

hei JVC, i had same problem with this guy....fix it please...we don't want to buy new one...its worth it!!! ******** those who buy new camcoder while the old one just being dump because litle broke....my camcoder is just like my child...

With the new camcorders coming out every day the Mini-dv camcorders are slowly dropping in price even though they do record awesome video there becoming outdated everyone wants the harddrive camcorders. If you really like the camera ebay is the place to go! theres one on ebay right now for 29$ with 10$ shipping "click here to check it out" i would buy it and keep yours for parts! Hope this helped even if just a little!

Not sure , do you mean safe mode ?

Take camera and its battery to a camera outlet, ask them to check the built-in rechargeable battery. Most outlets will help you with this, as its likely that if the battery has failed, you'll buy a replacement from the same dealer.

not sure on this one but it might be the heads in your vid cam may need cleaning. or the tapes are not running straight on the heads or the rollers in side. if the vid cam has been in a cold place it can cause this fault as the heads may have a bit of damp. try putting a tape in and run it fast forword in play mode and see if starts to clear the playhead.if it does keep doing it until you see a clear picture. this could also be a head misalignment fault if it is you will have to take it to some one to have a look at. if any of the above does not work then you will have to take to some one to look at it. .

Sounds as if the battery needs replacing - have you tried with a spare battery ?

The heads need cleaning. DO NOT USE A HEAD CLEANING TAPE. Thats like holding sand paper to the drum. Use alcohol and a swab.

Do you have the sd card that holds the pictures? Put in computer. Computer will give you option how to open and save photos. You do not have to use makers software disc, any photo reader can store your pictures on computer.
