Check with your internet provider.

Try to reset the device using reset button, and try to reconfigure the router.

while router is powered on and booted, press the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds. in the meantime router will reboot. Give it about a minute to boot and then access it on 192.168.0.1 with username Admin and with no password. Then you can quickly configure it again and this time document the pwd at a safe place :)

You may have to reset the router first there will be a button on the back get a paper clip and push it in for 5 seconds.

To open the set up page of the router of the router , one of your computer should be able to go online through the router.
It could be a wired computer or wireless computer.
If it is a wireless computer then make sure that the computer is connected to your own wireless network.
Do not change any wireless settings on the router using a wireless computer.
OK ! Now you have a computer online through the router and you want to open the set up page of the router.

First step is check the IP address of the computer.
Check the IP address and the Default gateway on the computer.

For Windows XP

START ==> RUN ==> type in cmd in the RUN box==> click OK or Hit ENTER . You will see a black window that is a command prompt . In the black window type in " ipconfig " ==> and Hit ENTER on your key board .

For Windows Vista and Windows 7

click on START ==> type in cmd in the start search box ==> enter ==> you will see the black window. Type in " ipconfig "you will see a lot of information. Try to find out the local area connection IPv4 address .

Note down the Default gateway number.

For MAC OS

Click APPLE icon in the right top corner of the computer. Go to System Preferences ==> go to Network ==> you will find the option Built in Ethernet or Airport whichever is connected. If you go to that you will find the Ip address and router Address.

The default gateway is the IP address of your router.

This IP address of the router will be used to open the set up page of the router

Now you got the IP address of the router.Open the Internet Browser ( Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari )

In the Address bar of the browser Type the IP address of the router.

Do not type http:// or www just type in the IP address only.

It will ask you for the user name and the password of the router.

This is the User name and the password of the router and NOT the wireless password. On a wireless router, there are 2 passwords. One is to access the router and the other one is for the wireless network.

For most of the routers the default password will be " admin " . for some routers the default password is " password ". For Linksys router the default password is admin and no user name.

Use the parental controls on that pc.Found in control panel.

Im also using D-Link DIR300 and posting Screenshot as under: -


Make the selections as above. I have entered two sites to block. The first site (www.xyz.com) in the above example will be blocked but the second site (www.abc.com) will not as it has not been selected. In short, all you have to do is add the site you wish to block, Select the Sites (Check Mark), Make Selection to Block site and save settings.

You need to access the Setup page of Dlink DIR 300 wireless router:
1. Use a working computer that is hard wired to the router.
2. Open a Web Browser (IE, Firefox etc.) on the computer.
3. In the address bar of the browser type http://192.168.0.1 and press Enter.
4. When the login window appears, set the user name to admin and leave the password box empty. Click OK to continue.
(Note: If you setup your own Usename and Password on your router please use those info to login instead of using the default)
You will then see the Setup page of the router.
5. CLick on the ADVANCED tab.
6. On the left side of the screen Click on Parental Control.
7. On the "Configure Parental Control below: " select the option "Turn Parental Control ON and DENY computers access to ONLY these sites".
8. ON the "Website URL" tyoe in the website that you want to block
9. Click on the Save settings button.

Once completed then the sites you entered are completely denied and blocked on your router.

With the router on, look at the back of the router. Push in the 'reset' button and hold for a few seconds. This wil restore the router to it's original state.

The first thing you should do upon completing a wireless connection with a D-Link router is to set up wireless security by accessing the router settings. This protects you against computer hackers trying to gain access to your bandwidth to commit fraud against you or others. It also restricts access away from those who live around you that would rather use your bandwidth instead of paying for their own. Unauthorized users can drastically slow your network speed.

1.Enter the IP address for the D-Link router into a web browser. The default address is 192.168.0.1. This address is typically located underneath the router. Load the page to access the login details.

2.Enter the login details. Refer to your records if necessary. The user name is usually "admin." Enter in your password. A blank password is the default. Load the page to access the router settings. Note: It's important to set a password, if you haven't already done so.

3.Click on the "Set Up" hyperlink and then click on the "Wireless Settings" hyperlink.

4.Scroll down until you see "Wireless Security Mode" and select your desired level of security from the drop-down. The type of security you select depends on the electronic equipment you want to connect to your network and the level of security you want to enable. See Resources for details on the different types of security available. If you are still unsure, WEP offers a decent level of security and works with almost all Wi-Fi enabled components like mobile phones, gaming equipment and laptops.

5.Enter in your desired password into the "Password" field and then enter in the password a second time in the "Re-Enter Password" field. Select "Save Setting" to enable wireless security on your D-Link Router.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. check your DCHP connection on your router, you must enable it in-order to relay the signal from your router to your laptop.

To note, if you are upgrading to Windows 7 from either Windows Vista or Windows XP check before installing that your Wired/Wireless equipment on your computer will have compatible drivers for Windows 7.

There is no way to get the forgotten password but to reset it. But by doing this, everything will go into factory defaults.

To do this, you have to check the reset button at the back of the router, Press and hold that button for 10 to 20 seconds. Wait for it power on fully and then access the router page using the default admin and password.

Press RESET button for 10 seconds it in in the back side of router then all settings defaults. Then connect router to computer with lan cable then you can access it with default ip address. http://192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank ir "password" then you can access the configuration page of router.
