need info... is it DOA (Dead On Arrival)? did it happened after a power loss? or all of a sudden? you should first check the AC adapter for power with the use of a multimeeter, try plugging it in a differant outlet, then you could try performing a reset (according to manual instructions) but it could be just dead... these things happen

What version of windows and how are you connecting to the router?

The lights indicate power, Internet connectivity and activity. Have you changed the default settings? Assuming you're using wireless, is it possible you have a freeloader in your vicinity? I would change the wifi password (key) (and name) to see if that helps. When all your devices are off, you can check active devices to see if any device is active. Also, make sure you change the admin password if you haven't.

If it will not recover from a hard reset, then it sounds like you electronics are damaged.

First check your LAN cable between the router and the internet modem. Try a new cable. Reboot the router. The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can ssets-up form scratch.

The orange light usually means that you are not connected. Are you talking about the SSID which is what you see when you connect to the wireless network? If so you will need to go inside the router and under the Wireless Settings change the SSID.There might be an ip address on a sticker on the router that will tell you how to get into it. If not check your documentation. Basically you are looking for something like 192.168.0.1 that you will put into the web address of your internet browser.Check your user manual because you will also need the user id and password to get into the router. If you don't have the user manual, get it from the manufacturer's website.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dlink Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals on the site. It will tell you what the ip address is and the default user id and password.
